MacCallum House provides the scenic beauty of the Pacific Ocean and a beautifully restored Victorian mansion as a backdrop for your wedding celebrations. In the center of the picturesque village of Mendocino, the Mac House has two acres of gardens, expansive lawns, a bar and restaurant and 32 distinctive rooms. MacCallum House is the perfect location for your destination wedding. The 19 rooms on the main property are reserved exclusively for your guests. The bar & restaurant are an ideal venue for hosting groups of up to 80 guests, and includes exclusive use of our two dining rooms, each with a river stone fireplace, as well as the bar and cafe, which includes an ocean-view sun porch, a wrap-around veranda, a lounge and bar. For larger parties, the tent, situated on our lush lawn and surrounded by established landscape, can accommodate up to 200 guests. Amplified music on the lawn ends at 10pm but the party can continue inside until midnight.

“My husband and I got married in Mendocino in early August and chose MacCallum House (or Mac House) as our reception location and couldn't have been happier with how it all turned out. We knew we wanted to get married along the Mendocino coast and the most important things for us were being able to throw a memorable party and have incredible food. During our venue search, we were challenged with the logistics of lodging our guests (around 80) at reasonable price points, quiet hours that would cap our party time and figuring out transportation within a comfortable budget that wasn't cumbersome to our group. We were drawn to the Mac House due to it's insanely convenient location (our guests didn't have to use any cars once they arrived and enjoyed the town at their own pace within walking distance) and beautiful rooms at a very affordable rate but we were hook, line, sinker SOLD when we had dinner at the restaurant and tried their food. WOW. We worked really closely with Summer, who was the awesomely vivacious Mac House coordinator and our personal cheerleader as we embarked on planning our wedding within 6 months. We decided to have our ceremony a few minutes away at Cypress Grove (which the Mac House helped us plan) and due to our party size, opted to host the reception in a tent on the Mac House lawn. Our wedding was truly the best day of our lives and our guests could not stop telling us how incredible the food was, how beautiful the tent looked, and most importantly how much FUN they had. I have to give a special shoutout to the entire staff who worked our event. Everyone was so kind, so attentive, and so lovely that it made a real lasting impression on everyone. I had one guest say to me verbatim "you never really notice the service at weddings but I noticed how amazing the service was at yours". We had multiple people tell us that we had the best wedding food they had ever had (we're both in our late 30s so we take that compliment as high praise as most ppl have been to tons of weddings at that point) and our party kept going till midnight before some of our guests spilled over to the local bars to keep going. The only slight bump leading up to the weekend was that it was clear to us that the Mac House was navigating some moving parts with their business this year (dealing with the aftermath of a really wet winter season, ordering new furniture, etc) and it took a while to get answers to certain questions but honestly, at no point was it stressful and it all worked out beyond our expectations. Saya (the GM), Chef Alan, and Summer are all wonderful people and they worked their tails off to give us an incredible weekend that we and our family and friends will never forget. We are huge fans of the Mac House and their entire team and can't wait to go back and visit again.”

Our dance floor in the barn was packed till the very end! There was so much flexibility working with the whole Kimwood team - they were all kind, thoughtful, and accommodating. The owners are some of the sweetest people you’ll meet. All of our vendors loved the location and enjoyed working with them too. Natalie as our coordinator went above and beyond, providing insight and guidance on the aspects I felt unsure of or wasn’t even thinking about. She truly made our wedding as smooth as possible and such a memorable day. I can’t say enough good things about her and the experience I got to have as a bride because of her. “The Red Barn Ranch was truly our dream wedding venue. Not only is it rustic and beautiful but it radiates love and family. The Rorabaugh's are the most down to earth and loving hosts you could ever hope for. They are there for you when you need but they also allow you a lot of freedom to create the exact experience you want. And they work hard to accommodate whatever you need for your special day. For example, she allowed me to have alpacas at our wedding and talked to the Alpaca handler about the best way to get in and set up so I didn't have to. Our wedding was a dream; from the rehearsal dinner at the venue and staying in the bridal suite, to the hustle of getting ready, to walking down the aisle and finally to dancing the night away. The accommodations were unparalleled and the venue is so beautiful, it saved me tons on florals and decor. Also when booking this venue, you get access on Friday and don't have to be gone until 3 the following Sunday. They also allow guests to camp in tents or bring RVs. This was one of my favorite parts about our wedding. A lot of my family stayed in their RVs and the morning after the wedding, it was the cutest and most fun little camp site. The proprietor woke in the morning to feed their cows and invited my little cousins to join. They also brought out their horses and my niece got to ride a horse for the first time. The pond is an adorable hang out spot where they allow catch and release fishing and rides around in the canoe plus it is an amazing background for pictures. My little nephews were having the best time chasing frogs and catching fish. When you book your wedding or other special event with Red Barn Ranch, you are not going to be disappointed. You are booking the most perfect experience with some of the most wonderful and caring people.”
