As a former camper and staff members, CL/CLH was a very nostalgic and meaningful place for my gusband and me to host our wedding. Not only did we meet at camp, we also got engaged here three years later! We hosted a welcome party at bass beach the night before and had the reception at the main lodge on CLH grounds. Camp staff was extremely accommodating during our days of setup and provided us with help wherever needed. It was a joy to watch all of our guests celebrate at the OB deck, wraparound lodge deck, playing yard games, and getting to experience a little bit of that camp magic. I even had a guest tell me this was the first time they felt like they had to send a thank you card for being invited to a wedding. We still hear raves from our guests about their “Minnesota Weekend.” There is truly no place like CL/CLH to bring all of your family and friends together. This is a venue I know I will keep returning to throughout life, and am so grateful for the experience I had here during my wedding weekend.

Nevis, MN

Our vision for FireFly began 13 years ago and we searched all around our hometown area for a barn to fit our vision. This turned out to be IT: a beautiful dairy barn built in the 1940's! We've kept its rustic and authentic vibe alive and added a lot of flair. It's a happy place to be!

  • Flexible event spaces

Venue considerations

  • No built-in audiovisual options
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No in-house catering options
FireFly Event Barn has been doing classic barn weddings before there was a trend. You could say they quite possibly started the nostalgic movement in Northern MN. As a wedding DJ I cannot say enough good things about this venue and it’s owners. Professionally I can share a few of the things I like most about FirFly. Lindsey is the coordinator and a wedding enthusiast. To her, weddings are not just her business but there is a personal sense of enthusiasm with every new couple. The venue is always clean, stocked with the necessities and accessible. The flexibility allows every couple to put their own personal touches into every wedding. The outdoor ceremony pavilion is right out of Country Living Magazine and your photos will be astonishing. The bridal suite is a cute and private place for the bride and her girls to get ready and relax. For the guys there is another suite to tell stories and share memories with the nervous groom. If you do not want to be seen before the wedding this is how it’s done. Outside there is plenty of room for mingling, yard games and if you want to hang out with your fiancé before your vows that is also totally cool. There is plenty of room for your guests and a great list of catering solutions. On a personal level, The Nicklason’s are just good people. Family oriented, loved in the community, hard working, genuine, and believers in the true beauty of positivity. Many couples come to FireFly hoping to intertwine their families and wind up leaving with two new friends in Lindsey and Brent. One of my favorite venues and I’m always happy and excited to be there whenever possible. Ryan Burns Spectrum Entertainment
