Powder Ridge Mountain Park and Resort was an absolute dream venue for our wedding! From the moment we first reached out, Marla and the team were excellent communicators, always staying on top of every detail and being incredibly flexible as we planned our special day. The space was transformed from a restaurant and ski lodge into a lovely ceremony space and magical reception area. The decor outside our wedding space was decked out for Christmas, which went perfectly with our rustic winter theme and made our photographs look fantastic. Marla and Powder Ridge accommodated our every need and assembled our vision without a flaw. Not to mention, the food was absolutely delicious! Stissing House

Pine Plains, NY

  • Starts at $65,000

Stissing House is one of the oldest taverns in America, located at the crossroads of the village of Pine Plains in the heart of Dutchess County. It’s 90 minutes from New York City, and 30 minutes south of Hudson. It has hosted feasts for generations. Downstairs, intimate dining rooms and fireside lounges are ideal for parties of 8-10 people. Upstairs, the oldest Dutch Colonial ballroom in America is designed for long-table dinners and weddings of 25-150 people. Gather your friends and family for pitchers of shandy and wood fired eggs the day before or morning after your party. Chef/Proprietor Clare de Boer cooks food that is generous and has a sense of place. Ingredients come from surrounding farms and are prepared simply on the tavern’s mammoth hearth. The eggs are laid today, the butter is homemade, and the food is for feasting.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Versatile for various event styles
  • Has a dance floor for celebration
  • Provides catering services

Venue considerations

  • No built-in audiovisual options
  • Not for you if you are drawn to more unconventional venues

The now "annual" Stissing House Craft Feast has made holiday shopping fun, festive, inspiring and very low stress. From the minute you step into their signature green door, you feel transformed to another time. And suddenly the only reason to have a cell phone is to take photos of every incredibly gorgeous vignette. You have no choice but to be present and to indulge the senses as you take each step through the maze of decorated display and historic architecture. Carolers, trays of wonderful treats and smells and smiles all made for the most perfect and unique experience. The event was so seamless organized and curated. Hats off to Clare and Katie and the team!!! A personal thank you to them for the endless hours that it took to bring this amazing community event to our valley for all of us to enjoy. You made my Christmas season (yet again!).
