This is us. We are Rachel and Xiwei. She’s old-fashioned. She likes quilting, folk music, and snuggling baby goats. He’s a modern man. He likes computers, technology, and watching action movies. Somehow we met and fell in love. I guess opposites do attract! Now we have three adorable children that we love spending time with, whether it’s fighting over who gets to play one of our 3 gaming consoles (how many consoles can a family have?!) or spending an afternoon outside at the beach we wouldn’t have it any other way. Modern tech doesn’t scare us, we’ve got cutting-edge cameras and equipment. But neither do time-honored traditions.

an elopement and adventure photographer. I grew up traveling the U.S at a young age with my family and fell in love with it. Picking up my camera to capture the beauty was one way that I fell in love with photography. My heart loves capturing the true story of your love and wants to document it as accurately as I can. If that means wind blowing your hair in your face and some mud on your dress, then I am here for it. I love being able to have a blast with my couples and show them all of the beauty this world has to offer.

My love for photography started at a young age. When I first got my hands on my parents' film camera, makeshift studios were set up all over the house and my poor little sisters were forced to model for me. Fast forward to today and it's a similar situation, minus the makeshift studios. I love figuring out little pieces of what makes a person unique, and trying to portray that in a photo. My favorite moments are the ones when I show someone their face on the back of my camera and they get to see a glimpse of the beauty that everyone else sees in them. When I hear an excited, "Oh! Wow!" ..that's my favorite.

Just like you, I have felt awkward in front of the camera. I’ve had photos taken of me that I didn’t like. When you go on a session with me, I will not only make you feel comfortable, but I will make sure you look good! I will give you prompts to keep you moving and laughing. I’m sorry but there are some angles, and poses that are not flattering for everyone. Like, please don’t take a photo of me from below! Hello double chin! What I’m saying is, I got you!

A Cotton candy sunset peppered by patio string-lights as a DJ plays my favorite song. We all have timeless memories logged in our minds. For me, they are based in a language of light. Hi! My name is Laura & I'm so happy you are here reading this little bio because it means we just might be a great match! (WooHoo:) Quick 411 on me:) I've been married now for over 26 years & counting! My hubby Guy and I were both born and raised in Southern Ca. but met in Utah at a Sundance work Christmas party and even though it wasn't love at first sight, it was pretty darn close🖤 We have 3 beautiful kids and a handsome son in-law! Something unexpected about me (for most people:) is that I'm a new "chicken mom" my kids think I've lost it, but really they have just been replaced is all haha-I'm kind of obsessed with them! Haha:)
