The Heinz History Center was an exceptional choice for our wedding venue. Their communication throughout the planning process was prompt, professional, and they were excellent listeners to ensure our vision came to life. The space itself is truly chic, grand, and unique, providing an exciting backdrop for our special day. The interactive spaces allowed our guests to explore during cocktail hour and reception, and ensured our custom decor was prominently displayed. The seamless flow between the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception kept the energy high and the day moving smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue to celebrate our marriage.

The Art Room

5.0

Pittsburgh, PA
  • Up to 150 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor

Located in the heart of Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District, The Art Room is a 4,000 square foot, modern industrial event space. Its rustic yet refined feel makes this space the perfect venue for your special occasion. The Art Room was born in Fall 2019 on the concept of creating an event space with the juxtaposition of industrial and fine arts. After seeing the rustic space, we started renovations right away. Given the timing of opening our space, we, like many others, were halted due to COVD-19. Beginning in the Spring of 2021 we were able to resume hosting events and honing in on the original concept of a versatile event venue partnered with a fine arts gallery.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Handles all cleanup logistics
  • Has a dance floor for celebration

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
I had a wonderful experience working with Lydia and Kristen. We held out welcome party at the Art Room and used their sister company, PA Market for passed apps and a charcuterie table. Bartenders and staff were efficient and kind. The space is a blank slate that you can design! It was really nice that they provided linens. We had about 100 people and there was PLENTY of space. Even a little too big of a space for 100 - i think 150 would be the perfect number for a non-seated event

For couples who do not want a ballroom/traditional wedding venue, Kingfly is the perfect place. My husband and I used Kingfly for our December wedding for both the ceremony and reception. While the space isn't necessarily great for a ceremony and I was nervous about how it work practically, I ended up really liking it. While we had 170 guests, we ended up having a more intimate ceremony with only 16 guests and the wedding party around us while the rest of the guests were further away due to only space limitations. Looking back, I actually think this was perfect because the ceremony felt so much more intimate than it would have been in a more traditional ceremony space. It is perfect for a reception space! The space is two floors and loft style. We used the upstairs as the central place where dancing and dinner would be served - which was perfect. The large bar and lounge areas downstairs made that the perfect place for guests who preferred to hang out and talk rather than dance. It is really a unique space and I received so many compliments from guests as it being one of the best wedding venues they've ever been to! Because it is a distillery/cocktail bar, you have to use all of their alcohol - but this is a great thing because their liquor, cocktails, and beer/wine/cider selections are phenomenal and very reasonably priced! In speaking with others who had open bars with cheaper liquor, beer, and wine selections, I spent just about the same for high end selections and excellent craft cocktails. Everyone was raving about the drinks throughout the end and the bartenders were amazing and did such a great job! As for the event coordinators (Francesca and Erin), they were wonderful. They were super helpful throughout the entire process and eased my nerves because I was genuinely panicked about the guest count (170) working in a space probably more suited for smaller weddings. They were both very professional, great to work with, and I felt I could really trust them to execute well. Overall, I was just thrilled with this venue and staff and could not be happier with how everything worked out!
