Sweet Like Sam started on Valentine's Day back in 2018 with chocolate covered strawberries. The passion behind baking was always just a simple hobby as I got my degree in education. After becoming a mother it was a family decision to commit to our little family and focus on the kids. That's when all the magic began with the creation of Sweet Like Sam. The more I learned, the more my work became stronger and the larger my business grew.

After baking and decorating cakes for over 30 years, in 2014 I was faced with the challenge of making my own wedding cake. I also wanted to include embellishments to enhance the overall grandeur of the cake that were not consumable. The solution, create a beautiful faux cake featuring all of the grandeur I desired far in advance of the actual wedding date. I discovered that my true passion is decorating, not baking. I loved what I was doing, but God gives you a gift for a reason. I wanted to use that gift. I talked to my husband about it and he was very supportive, so I took a leap of faith.
