My beauty journey started when I was about 4 years old.That’s when I helped myself to my mother’s lipsticks—which weren’t easy to come by in those days! I decided that day -and all days- should be Halloween, and I painted my face accordingly. As I grew, my love affair with makeup intensified. When I was a teenager, I would wear heavy, smoky eye makeup. I’ve grown out of that stage, having come to appreciate natural beauty. It’s natural beauty that I focus on now. But don’t get me wrong! I have loved makeup my whole life. I remember my mom paying me a dollar to put makeup on her before she left to work. A lot of my time as a kid was spent in front of the mirror trying to make my face look like the girls in magazines. When I do makeup on women I ask them what is the hardest thing about makeup, they always respond that they don’t know what to buy. When they go to a makeup counter they are intimated and are a bit scared of the ladies selling the makeup.
