It all started 9 years ago when I started dating Diane’s son (my now husband). For our first Valentine’s day I made him chocolate chip cookies in the shape of hearts. Diane tried one and said, yep, this girl can bake. Diane has been making every flavor Christmas cookie under the sun since 1993. After tasting my chocolate chip cookie that day she brought me on as her helper and we would bake away during the holidays. Fast forward a few years and we have decided to make this a full time adventure!

I am a small, one woman-operated home bakery that specializes in custom buttercream cakes and macarons for birthdays, engagement parties, and small weddings. I began as a cake artist in 2020 and have fallen in love with creating realistic buttercream flowers and piping vintage-style Lambeth cakes.

We can create any dessert spread you desire! Everything is made by hand including our french macarons, cake and cupcake fillings (no jelly here!), and ganaches. As word of mouth spread a demand for more patties gave birth to Seacoast Sweets. 3 new flavors were added and by 2015 it was a full-time business. In 2018 Seacoast Sweets moved to Rhode Island from Massachusetts. Since then, Seacoast Sweets has continued to grow online, in destination hotels throughout New England, tourist locations, weddings, and events, at boutique retailers, and as a popular corporate gift.

CHIC is a culmination of my retail, styling, and design background. Truthfully, the idea of this little biz was created while on lockdown during the pandemic, a little unorthodox I know, but I was determined. I identified this gap in the market the summer prior... after struggling to find a pretty dessert cart for an event at my client's new business launch. Viola! CHIC cotton candy was born, serving the cosmopolitan Boston market; giving a traditional childhood treat-- a chic upgrade. Wherever the party is, we want to be there for you! xo
