We absolutely loved our wedding at Trapper's Turn Golf Course! The venue itself was stunning, and it created the perfect backdrop for our special day. Working with Claudiu was fantastic—he was professional, responsive, and genuinely committed to making our wedding memorable. Even when we encountered a few hiccups along the way, Claudiu handled them with grace and ensured everything ran smoothly in the end. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the atmosphere and service. We’re so grateful for such a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Trapper's Turn Golf Course to anyone planning their big day! [Photos are curtsey of Tara Draper Photography]

The Rose House

5.0

Stevens Point, WI
  • Up to 180 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor
  • Starts at $2,500

The Rose House is in a unique and historic building that was built in 1925. It is most widely known for being the elegant and delightful “Hot Fish Shop” for many years. The upper level which is currently inoperable was once known as the Belmont Hotel. We spent the first half of 2019 working hard to expose the beauty in these walls and give it a flare of our own. Our goal is to provide you with a classy, historic, and artsy “blank canvas” allowing for your events to be just that, yours. We offer a historic downtown vibe for your wedding day and are always honored to celebrate with you. We are prepared to offer both ceremony and reception space. Our mission is to be a light in the downtown, to celebrate your celebrations, provide space for your needs, and value all who enter. Thank you for considering us for your events!

Why you'll love this venue

  • All-inclusive venue packages
  • Handles all cleanup logistics
  • Classic, vintage atmosphere

Venue considerations

  • No all-inclusive dining options
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
  • Does not allow pets
I discovered The Rose House through a coworker because her daughter had her reception there. When I went to visit this location I knew this is what I was looking for! My wedding theme was Fall in the Shire and The Rose House definitely feels like you're at a pub in a mystical land. The bar is decorated beautifully with a mermaid/nautical feel, lots of gorgeous exposed brick walls, and a beautiful rose mural. And there are so many twinkling lights! The bathrooms are nice and big enough to fit a bride in a wedding gown. Rosalind was helpful with the planning process and great on the day of my wedding by letting the vendors know what to do. Her staff was awesome, I especially LOVED her bartenders. The marquee out front with our names on it is such a fun touch to the venue. We ordered the french fry and pretzel snack station later in the night and it was delicious! It was sad when we had to take down the decorations and leave because it was so beautiful, I wanted it to stay like that forever. The location is great and I really couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue.

Inside we also have a Hall that seats around 175, two bars and a game room. We can do as little or as much as you would like. The rural country feel is the only way to go for your wedding!

Why you'll love this venue

  • Versatile for various event styles
  • Bridal suite on site
  • Rustic yet refined style

Venue considerations

  • Does not have a dance floor
  • On-site parking not available
  • No on-premises lodging options
We wanted to have a wedding that was outside the city with a country setting. We also wanted to have more room to ourselves and not be stuck in a tiny room for our dinner. This was the perfect place. We got to use their ballroom for our dinner and we had a private bar. They also let us set up some decor on their patio which was connected to the ballroom. I could not have asked for it to go any better. I would do it all over again if I could! Just kidding, planning a wedding sucks but we had a great time at their venue!
