Hi everyone! My name is Skylar Theriot. I am a portrait and event photographer based out of Madison. I have made my own photography business this year with some amazing mentors and people believing and investing in me. I am beyond blessed to have grown so much in such a short year as a person and business owner. Many mistakes have been made, as well as many victories. I’ve met so many amazing people throughout this journey and I’m sure I will continue to.

I am a Louisiana Based Wedding photographer! Although my heart and soul live in the south, I absolutely love to travel and explore the world. Climbing up hills, taking a hike, driving old classic cars, eating pizza from the drive thru window, exploring new cities, dancing the night away - all of these things bring me so much life and I love when couples want to incorporate that into their special day!!

Next to the love of my husband + family, is my passion for photography. When God puts something on your heart, and then your family also confirms it- you know it’s what you are called to do. I capture timeless photography for romantic couples who believe in building a marriage that will last forever. Marriage is the most precious thing we are given, and I want to showcase that throughout my photography. My family knows me as a hopeless romantic, fierce and loyal friend, and a true southern belle. My life is exactly what I’ve prayed for, and so much more.

I live for moments. I cry during every daddy-daughter dance at a wedding and I cry even bigger tears when a mama holds her new infant for the first time. Having the honor to capture those moments makes my career even more than what I could imagine it to be. When I'm behind the camera I prefer the flow of letting the session take it's own course. Direction is one thing, but when you're caught in the moment, THAT is what makes the photo. I want to capture your moments and the goal for me is to become your photographer for life.

I photographed my first wedding in the heat of Summer back in 2011, I remember feeling a type of euphoria during the entire wedding, an "emotional adrenaline" if you will, I soaked in everything my mentor taught me over the course of 3 years and finally branched out on my own in late 2014. Still, to do this day I experience that same feeling with every wedding! If you want someone who is as passionate and in love with your wedding day as you are, I am your girl!
