If you have Facebook, you can request to be added to the whale spotter Ketchikan group. This is where people post when they see whales from shore. Typically they tell you a location (could be local knowledge landmarks so don't hesitate to ask us), and the direction the whales were traveling so that other potential whale spotters can anticipate where they might be headed to. Good idea to bring your binoculars with you if you have a good pair. Humpbacks and Killer Whales will be around in October.
