The Boulder flatirons are iconic! The park has a variety of hiking options for all levels. Be sure to check in with the park rangers, grab a map, and ask for recommendations before venturing out. This is also where the reception will be! It might be worth packing a change of clothes so that you can explore the park after the reception. Don't forget water.
Reservations are required to enter the park and will go on sale through www.recreation.gov at 8 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time on August 1 for the month of September, and any remaining days in August that have not been booked. For additional information regarding permits and reservations: https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/time-entry-permit-system.htm
Another of our favorite climbing locations and where we got engaged! You can drive through the canyon, rent bicycles in Golden and tool around on the paved Peaks to Plains Trail, or park at one of the many pull offs and explore the trail by foot. Don't forget to look for climbers along the way!
One of Colorado's famous fourteeners! If exploring Pikes Peak, plan to have a jacket and pants for the summit as the temperature at 14,000 feet differs drastically from the temperature in Colorado Springs (6,000 ft.). Shivering at the summit is no fun when you're trying to enjoy the views.
