Question

What essential items should I pack?

Answer

The sun is brutal and unforgiving in Colorado. Add high elevation and low humidity and you might find yourself feeling like a fish out of water. To make your visit more comfortable, make sure to bring the following items: - Sunscreen - Chapstick - Lotion - Nalgene/water bottle - Tylenol/Aspirin

Question

What's the weather like?

Answer

During the afternoon in full sun, temperatures can hover between 75-85*F. However, it's not uncommon to see a 20-30 degree temperature swing once the sun goes down. Plan to pack layers! Especially for the morning ceremony which could be a bit chilly (50-60*F).

Question

Alcohol and Elevation

Answer

Take it slow! Alcohol is known to have a larger effect on someone at higher elevation. If you're coming straight from sea level and don't have a few days to acclimate, drinking too much could lead to a rather unpleasant date with the porcelain goddess.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Plan to arrive at the site 10-15 minutes before the ceremony.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Business casual but nothing too formal as we will be outside. Some good examples are: sundresses, skirts and blouses, dress pants and polos/button downs, khaki pants, etc. Please no jeans or sneakers!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love kids, but we would like to limit their attendance to immediate family only.

Question

Is the event inside or outside?

Answer

Ceremony: completely outside! Reception: a combination of both. Guests are free (and expected) to roam from the enclosed gala tent, to the stone patio, to the green space out front.

Question

What if it rains?

Answer

No one wants it to rain on their wedding day...but sh*t happens, so we have a backup plan. The entire wedding will be moved to our reception venue where we will have a quick ceremony at approximately 9 am followed immediately by brunch/lunch.

Question

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes, both locations are wheelchair accessible!

Question

What about parking?

Answer

Ceremony site: there's a $5 parking fee at the top of the mountain and limited parking spaces. Carpooling is highly encouraged. Reception: parking can be found at the entrance to Chautauqua park, along the loop road leading to and from the dining hall, and on Baseline road. All parking in this area is free after Labor Day!

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

So as not to interfere with our photographer, and to be more present in the moment, we would prefer that you not take photos during the ceremony. Take as many photos as you want before and after but please refrain from using flash.

Question

When are RSVPs due?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 1, 2021.

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

Please tell us as soon as possible so that we can accommodate you! If you RSVP here on the website, you'll be able to make a note of any dietary restrictions there.

Question

Will there be alcohol at the reception?

Answer

Yes there will be alcohol, but no, it is not unlimited. We have decided to offer our guests a couple specialty drinks and an open bar for a limited time. After that it will be a cash bar, so if you are interested in having additional alcoholic beverages, please come prepared with cash to pay for your drinks. And don't forget your ID!!

Question

What if I have additional questions that aren't found here?

Answer

You can email Jordan at jjdd18@gmail.com with any of your questions!
