Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Erin Trahey and Sean Bourelle
St. Andrews is a very special place for us, as it is where we met in September 2011 while studying for our undergraduate degrees. Erin and Sean then went on to get Master's degrees from the University (Erin in History, Sean in Physics). Not only is St. Andrews a world renowned site for golf, but it is also a wonderful place to eat, shop, and relax. It is a town brimming with history and traditions. Below we have shared some of our favorite things to do, sites to see and places to eat. Make sure that before you leave, you take at least one walk on East or West Sands beach, visit the ancient Pier, see the Cathedral ruins, enjoy an ice cream at Janetta's and a lasagna at Little Italy. St. Andrews may only have three main streets, but we promise that this special little place will steal your heart!

Little Italy

2 Logies Lane, St. Andrews, KY16 9NL, United Kingdom
, 01334 479299

The best Italian in St Andrews (and arguably anywhere else!) with an extremely cozy atmosphere. Their lasagna is out of this world. Little Italy was Sean and Erin’s ‘go to’ fancy date spot when they were in St. Andrews and they return at any chance they get. They also ate there in July 2019 after Sean proposed to Erin on West Sands Beach. Booking ahead highly recommended.

Forgan's St Andrews

110 Market Street, Scotland KY16 9PB, United Kingdom
+44 1334 466973

A charming restaurant for lunch and dinner that serves up locally sourced Scottish produce. They also host Ceilidh nights (traditional Scottish dancing!) Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm.

Mitchell's St Andrews

111-112 Market Street, Scotland KY16 9PB, United Kingdom
+44 1334 466970

A great spot for, lunch or afternoon tea (with sweet treats!) —they work with local suppliers to provide delicious gourmet cheeses, artisan breads and cakes and craft spirits. They have a deli, where you can grab something to take away, as well as a sit-down restaurant that serves food all day, including dinner.

Bibi's Cafe

5 Ellice Pl, Scotland KY16 9HU, United Kingdom
+44 1334 474689

A great spot for lunch, particularly known for their coffees, smoothies, brunches and delicious cupcakes

+44 1334 477088

Delicious Thai Food

Dr Noodles

84a Market Street, Scotland KY16 9PA, United Kingdom

Excellent fish and chips shop. A must-do for a trip to Scotland.

Jannettas Gelateria

31 South Street, Scotland KY16 9QR, United Kingdom

Amazing ice cream. When it's dry out, grab a cup or cone and head for a walk to the pier, the beach, or to see the cathedral ruins. Highly recommend!

St Andrews Cathedral

The Pends, Scotland KY16 9QL, United Kingdom
+44 1334 472563

The remains of what was once the largest church in Scotland. The cathedral museum has a rich collection of medieval sculptures and relics. St Rule’s Tower (which you can climb) dates from the 12th century. Lovely views over St Andrews and Fife.

St Andrews Aquarium

+44 1334 466718

One of the most famous golf courses in the world (and one of several acclaimed courses in St. Andrews). Guided tours typically available. Or of course if you are so inclined, try your hand at a few rounds of golf!

St Andrews Museum

Doubledykes Road, Scotland KY16 9DP, United Kingdom
+44 1334 659380

This museum tells the history of the town from the medieval period to current times. Situated in a Victorian mansion in Kinburn Park.

West Sands Beach

Scotland, United Kingdom

Explore the beaches! East and West Sands are both beautiful places to walk, run, picnic, or just enjoy the day. Sean proposed to Erin on West Sands, and it is a very special place for them
