Aside from the museum, they have a beautiful outdoor area and pond behind the building which is a great outdoor space to hang out. The gravesites of George H.W., Barbara, and Robin are also behind the library and open for guests to visit.
The location where we got engaged! Another one of our favorite spaces to hang out on campus.
If you want some beer but don't want to be in the college bar scene, check out Blackwater Draw in downtown Bryan. It is about 15 minutes away from central College Station. Their hours can be limited, so check before going.
Some of our favorite restaurants are: Chicken Salad Chick, Torchy’s Taco (street tacos), Fuego’s (street tacos), Willie’s Ice House (burgers, seafood po’boys, crawfish in June), Shiraz Shish Kabob (middle eastern fare), and Rx Pizza. If you love chicken tenders and fries, try Layne's. For a quick lunch of soups/salads/sandwiches, there's Newks and McAlisters. For good Texas BBQ, check out: J. Cody’s (unlimited sides with any meat plate!) and Cooper’s Old Time ($3 Texas beers) For a sit down meal: Napa Flats (California inspired), Cheddars, Solt (seafood) or Saltgrass (steakhouse). For breakfast, we highly recommend the Village Cafe. It's in downtown Bryan (10-15 minutes from hotels) but will serve you a filling and healthy breakfast. Stella southern cafe is also very good, but lines can get long. For a quick breakfast, we love Babe's (egg sandwiches, doughnuts, kolaches, lots of coffee drinks). Our absolute favorite spot for coffee is the Kyle House (closed on Sundays).
This is a popular shopping district right next to the hotel blocks. They have tons of restaurants, boutiques, and a movie theater. If you don't feel like driving anywhere for food, Zoe's Kitchen, Piada Italian Street Food, Blaze Pizza, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, and Harvest Coffee are all within walking distance from the hotels.
If you want to tour Texas A&M University, check out the Memorial Student Center, Kyle Field, and Academic Plaza. The best place to park is University Center Garage or Cain Garage.
A laidback outdoor bar in the Northgate bar district. A great place for groups to hang out.
One of the most iconic places in College Station. It's a country bar where students love to get a pitcher and play pool or dominos.
