While we would love to extend a plus one to all our guests, the venue has a limited capacity. Please check your RSVP to determine if a date was already allotted to your party. Should you not have an included plus one, please reach out to the couple. As we near the wedding date, we may be able to invite a few more guests, but we cannot offer a plus one unless confirmed directly by Romel or Krysta.
Yes! We understand for many guests traveling to Canada without their whole family is not feasible. We welcome the children of our loved ones to attend our wedding. We also understand that for others a weekend away from your kids might sound like a welcome idea. Please just let us know when you RSVP if your children will attend, so we can plan accordingly. If you are looking for a hotel sitter for your children for any portion of your trip, our wedding planning team suggests Childcare Connections Banff (childcarebanff.com)
The dress code for our ceremony and reception is formal. Male guests should wear a dark-colored suit with a tie. Female guests should wear floor or ankle length dresses or pantsuits. Colors inspired by the nature of the mountains are encouraged for all guests! We kindly ask that you refrain from wearing a tuxedo, white dress, or cocktail attire. A more detailed guide to the dress code will be provided to guests after the RSVP date.
A shuttle will be provided from The Malcolm hotel to the ceremony and return to The Malcolm for the reception. Please see the "Schedule" tab for more details.
Parking is complimentary at The Malcolm Hotel garage with overflow street parking. A shuttle will be provided to Quarry Lake for the ceremony. Please note parking at Quarry Lake is limited and requires a fee. Guests are encouraged to utilize the provided shuttle to the ceremony.
Transportation is not provided for the events on Friday, July 24th or Sunday, July 26th. The Roam buses run between Canmore and Banff and are a great option if you are not renting a car or simply would prefer not to drive to these events. Taxis are also available, and more info is available on the Travel page. Please note Uber and ride-share apps do not operate in Banff. Parking is limited in downtown Banff, but free parking is available at the The Bear Street Parkade on the upper floors. The Banff Train Station also has free parking and is about a five to ten minute walk to downtown. Please let us know if you need help arranging transportation to any event!
Yes. Our ceremony will take place in the grass at Quarry Lake after a short 5-minute walk along a gravel path. We advise avoiding stiletto heels for the ceremony. Additionally, the weather can be variable in July in the area with the possibility of sun, wind, or even rain, so we encourage you to check the weather before heading to the ceremony and pack options for a range of temperatures. We recommend bringing sunglasses, as the sun can be quite bright.
Yes. We ask guests to remain tech-free during our ceremony. One of Krysta’s favorite facts is that research suggests just 20 minutes in nature, screen fee, offers multitudes of mental and physical health benefits. We hope this is an opportunity to bask in the beauty of our site and be present in the moment with us. Plus, Krysta has been known to give an intense teacher stare to students misusing technology, and she can’t promise it won’t happen by instinct.
Your presence is the greatest gift on our wedding day. Should you wish to provide a further gift, please see the Registry on Zola to explore items and funds.
We kindly ask that guests refrain from bringing gifts to our wedding events. We will be traveling from Banff to our honeymoon and do not have a reliable way to bring gifts back to New York. If purchasing from our registry, you have the option to ship gifts directly to us. We will gladly accept cards on our wedding day should you wish to bring one.
We have access to the reception venue until 1 a.m. We plan to be on the dance floor right up till we are kicked out. As local bars all close around the same time, we will not host an official after party after the reception ends.
You will be able to formally RSVP directly on Zola in spring 2026, and more information will be available soon. RSVPs will be due by April 15, 2026. If you are able to informally confirm your attendance prior to the formal RSVP date, please let R or K know, as this is helpful for planning purposes.
Summer weather in the mountains can be unpredictable. Nights and early mornings can be a bit chilly while when the sun is out midday it often warms up nicely. Summer rainstorms are not uncommon, and it can get windy. We recommend checking the weather before packing and having some back up options in your suitcase for a range of conditions.
Open Table is the most widely used platform for restaurant bookings in the area. The summer months are a popular time for visitors, and we recommend making reservations if you are excited about trying a particular restaurant.
Most U.S. cell phone carriers include Canada within their plans. We encourage you to check with your cell phone carrier before arriving, as it is likely that text, calls, and data usage will be included in your current plan. If your plan does not include Canada, eSims are a great option to stay connected while traveling in Canada.
