Note: Zola has a built-in "surprise gift" feature for select gifts where you can buy an item and delay revealing it to the couple until a chosen date, allowing you to present it in person or just have it marked as purchased on their registry without immediate notification. You can also choose to ship any registry gift to your own address during checkout, giving you the physical gift to wrap and give personally at the shower or wedding, making it a surprise.
How to use Zola's Surprise Feature:
1. Select Gift: Find a gift on the couple's Zola registry. (Note: not all gifts are enabled with the surprise feature)
2. Checkout: During checkout by, look for the option to "Make this gift a surprise!" or "Email the couple on a later date".
3. Choose Reveal Date: Select a future date (e.g., wedding day, shower day)
4. Mark as Purchased: The gift will still show as purchased on the registry to prevent duplicates, but the giver's name and details remain hidden until the reveal date
