Like all modern millennial love stories, Kevin's and Paul's starts in July 2018 with an app called Tinder. During their first conversations, Kevin recalls taking the Metro on his way to work and getting excited when there was finally service over the river to read Paul's responses. It was during these conversations that they decided to meet for a first date at this cool little spot called The Dabney (famously a Michelin star restaurant that neither Kevin nor Paul had the foresight to make a reservation at). Turns out, you can't just walk into The Dabney and after getting laughed at by the hostess, they took refuge in The Dabney Cellar for charcuterie and cocktails. The two established a strong connection at the first date, which turned into weekly dates, followed by a summer of budding romance. Once "official" it seemed like Paul and Kevin spent every weekend either at a wedding, visiting friends around the country, or just having a great time in DC with all their friends. Whether they were in Charlottesville, Durham, Louisville, Minneapolis, Rehoboth, or Seattle, their first year and a half together was filled with excitement and adventure. After moving in together 4 months into COVID, their relationship took on new challenges and strengthened for the better. Between their shared passion for LEGO, bonding with friends virtually, and leaning on each other for support, Kevin and Paul really started considering a future together. By 2022, the two had discussed future plans ad nauseum, culminating in a perfect proposal in Provincetown ("Ptown"), MA. Ptown had a special place in Kevin's heart for the past decade and he was so excited to share its magic with Paul, making it extra special when Paul got down on one knee in front of The Lobster Pot to ask Kevin to marry him. They'll never forget getting to celebrate with Vince, Max, Krebs, Joe, and Jorge immediately after. Kevin and Paul are now SO excited to celebrate their love with all the people who matter the most, in DC, where their love story began.
