We have our friend, Kevin to thank for the two of us meeting one October evening three years ago. A few weeks earlier, Margaret was walking in the Columbia Heights neighborhood with her father and ran into Kevin, who lives in the same part of town as Margaret's dad. Kevin invited Margaret and her to Dad to a show at his house where his band, Los Caribbeat, would be playing. At that time, Nathaniel was the drummer for Los Caribbeat, and he also played accordion on some of the songs. Nat was late to the party and the first thing Margaret remembers was this bustling of activity when he came through the front door. She saw drum sticks and cymbals tumble to the ground, and this incredibly charming looking guy. Margaret and Nathaniel saw one another again that March at Haydee's Restaurant in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood of NW, DC. Los Caribbeat was playing their monthly show. On his set break, Nathaniel came over to greet Margaret and her dad, and was totally impressed she remembered his name. Nat sat across from Margaret in this coral Hawaiian shirt, that Margaret still loves. They chatted about everything from music, to their siblings, and the non-profit work Margaret was involved in at the time. Before the evening was over they exchanged numbers, and to Margaret's utter disbelief, Nathaniel called her the very next day. Wasn't this 2015, and people only communicated through text or FB messenger? Nathaniel's chivalry was top notch and was calling Margaret to invite her on a date. This was so impressive to Margaret, and even though she was already on her way to NYC to celebrate her birthday when he called, they made plans to get together when she returned. And, they did. Since then, Margaret and Nathaniel have shared so many incredible moments, and feel blessed to have found one another. She says, "Nathaniel brightens my day!" He says, "Margaret is the missing piece to my puzzle." We cannot wait to celebrate our love with all of you!
