Robber's roost is named after a very remote area near the San Rafael Swell, which is just 30 mins from Green River (Very worth your time in exploring!). This area of the desert is supposedly where Butch Cassidy hid-out several times. He and his wild bunch knew the slot canyons of the Swell and Robber's Roost better than the folks that were pursuing them, which is why they often got away!
