Yes, however, we are setting up a shuttle service that will pick up guests in town at several locations (locations TBD, please check back before the wedding) and drop them off at Swasey’s beach. If you plan on drinking we highly recommend using our shuttle service. If you are camping, you can park in the Swasey’s beach parking area. If you are not camping, The Bureau of Land Management has asked us to NOT take up any extra parking spaces right on Swasey’s beach, so, if you drive your own car you will have to park at the boat ramp which is a ~15 min walk on a dirt road up to Swasey’s beach. We will have a sign up to direct you to the boat ramp parking lot.
We will be in the desert, which means it could be perfect, incredibly hot, or slightly chilly. The beginning of October is typically still warm, 75-90 degrees F during the day and 40-60 degrees F at night. If you plan to take the shuttle, maybe bring your clothing layers in a backpack. As far as STYLIN, match our theme, desert hats, bolo ties, linen for keeping cool in case of heat, sandals, or bare feet (no high heels, you will fall through the sand), etc. Think HBO’s Westworld (Season ONE, of course), and feel free to match our color palette (various shades of sagebrush green/blue and sandstone red).
Yes and no. All camp sites are first come first served, the sites closest to Swasey’s are pay sites. We will try to secure all the pay sites but there are also a limited amount of free sites 20 minutes further up the road.
YES. Furry frens shall be the tru VIPs of this wedding, and we are srsly so excited to have them celebrate with us. The BLM is requiring us to have dogs leashed, so please be prepared to leash your dog. Please think through whether this wedding will be a good fit for your dog. If your dog does not feel comfortable meeting other dogs, or is generally aggressive towards other dogs/humans, consider leaving sweet baby at home. You know your dog best so you be the judge! Dogs are allowed on the section of the river that we will float. Please make sure your pooch has a life jacket if they are coming with us on the float! Lastly, pick up your doggo's poo poo. We will provide poo bags, but bring your own if you have them!
Leashes are mandatory for children, optional for dogs. KIDDING. The BLM is actually requiring leashes for dogs, so if you bring your well behaved pup please be prepared to leash them. If you bring your child definitely keep an eye on them. The campsites, rehearsal dinner, and wedding are all right next to the swiftly moving Green River. The beach at Swasey's is pretty relaxed, there is a large eddy (calmer waters) and kiddos can play in it, but just make sure you watch them and consider life jackets in the river!
Mowwww. No. Cats will surely cause a fuss with all of the dogs. Leave your bitchy cat at home.
