Activities on the Ranch

The Marshalls have made countless fun-filled trips to Black Butte without ever leaving the Ranch. Bike rentals and trails connecting all the pools, tennis and pickleball courts, 2 golf courses, an equestrian center for trail rides, fly-fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and more, the recreation opportunities at Black Butte are endless! Check out BBR's website for more info. Note that you need to be renting a BBR home or accompanied by a renter to have access to BBR activities.

Summit the Butte

Moderately strenuous 3.6 mile hike up to the lookout tower on top of Black Butte. If it's relatively clear, you'll be able to spot several Cascade peaks as you traverse around the Butte.

A short and easy hike to see some beautiful falls - about 30 minutes west of Black Butte Ranch.

Cascade Lakes Highway to Sparks Lake

Gorgeous highway south of Bend that takes you to several high-altitude lakes with a great view of the mountains. Sparks Lake is particularly noteworthy.
