Getting to the Ballroom

The ceremony and reception will be held at the Haw River Ballroom, a festive mill-turned-music venue in Saxapahaw, NC. The address is 1711 Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Road. Parking at the Ballroom is not recommended, as we do not have any reserved spaces available to us. Only those unable to take a shuttle - families with children in car seats, and those who might need extra assistance getting in and out of their vehicles - should park at the Ballroom. Spaces are not guaranteed, but a few should be available to you. We will provide shuttle transportation between the Hampton Inn and the venue. Shuttles will leave the hotel at 4pm, and return around 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 10:30pm, and 11:15pm (based on demand). For those who don't stay at the hotel, you can still park in the deck adjacent to the hotel and use our transportation services, so long as you don't use a space marked for hotel guests. However, I would not recommend parking in the deck overnight, as it is restricted 3am-7am.

Hampton Inn & Suites Chapel Hill-Carrboro

For those of you joining us from out of town, we recommend the Hampton Inn in Carrboro, NC. This lovely hotel is located in the heart of sweet Carrboro, within walking distance to bars, restaurants, picnic tables, and ice cream joints. For more information, call (919) 969-6988 or visit their website at https://bit.ly/2AEJzCf. Be sure to mention you'll be in town for the Shell/Freedman wedding. Note: If you elect to stay in the Hampton Inn, please made your reservation by August 20th. After this date, our reserved rooms will be released, and all other rooms are already booked up for the October 5th weekend. The Chapel Hill/Carrboro area also offers many convenient AirBnBs, for those who prefer something a little different.

Holiday Inn Express

If space is unavailable at the Hampton Inn & Suites, we recommend the Holiday Inn Express. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide shuttles to and from this particular hotel. But the Holiday Inn Express is a quick 12-minute drive from the Hampton Inn & Suites, from which you can catch a shuttle to the ceremony.

Flight

Flying In

If you're flying in for the wedding, the Raleigh/Durham International Airport (RDU) is the closest stop. If you plan to stay at the Hampton Inn, you likely won't need to rent a car or drive anywhere. Plenty of food options and fun activities exist within walking distance of the hotel. The airport is about a 25 minute ride from the Hampton Inn in Carrboro. It's easy to catch a taxi, Uber, or Lyft. Unfortunately, there are no buses from the airport to Carrboro.
