Question

What is Camp Friendship Like?

Answer

Camp Friendship is located outside of Charlottesville, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounded by over 600 acres of scenic fields and forests. The camp has been family-owned and run for over 50 years.

Question

How and by when should I RSVP?

Answer

Once you receive your formal invitation, you can use this website to RSVP to each event. You can also call the number that will be listed on your invitation. Please RSVP by August 31, 2019. If you don't RSVP, please bring your own dinner. Ha ha, just kidding. Kind of.

Question

What do I need for camp?

Answer

For guests staying at camp, a suggested packing list is available on the "Travel and Lodging" tab or the link below. If you're coming to camp just for the wedding and ceremony, you don't need anything but yourself and your dancing shoes. And maybe a light jacket/sweater for the outdoor ceremony. Packing list can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RRq9azFkrnPbTEN5eHfmvl2D5h55bt_xsRDpyE1K5i8/edit?usp=sharing

Question

What about weather?

Answer

It is a summer camp. You will be outdoors. Weather can vary so please dress and pack accordingly (layers!). In case of rain, we'll have backup indoor options (most likely drinking).

Question

What does "Dress Comfortably" Mean?

Answer

It means we're getting married literally in the woods and we don't want you to twist your ankles or mess up your fancy shoes as you walk through dirt. PLEASE DON'T WEAR HEELS!

Question

Where do we park?

Answer

Parking is available right in front of the reception hall. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the ceremony site. Signs, as well as camp staff, will be there to direct you.

Question

Who am I bunking with?

Answer

We will not force you to bunk with strangers. We will assign cabins as they make sense - families staying together, couples getting private cabins, and friends staying with their friends. We will contact you for preferences if we are unsure. If you're concerned we won't make the right decision for you, reach out to us!

Question

How do meals work for the weekend?

Answer

All meals are provided for the whole weekend! They will be served at the scheduled time; check the camp schedule for details. Specific locations will be provided when you check in. The camp's renowned chef has got vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options covered. Make sure you tell us your dietary restrictions when you RSVP. Coffee and water available all weekend.

Question

Is alcohol allowed?

Answer

Yes - and encouraged! Camp Friendship will transform to an adult summer camp for the weekend. Beer & wine will be available all weekend and a full bar will be provided on the night of the wedding. For the hard stuff, you are more than welcome to BYO (and share).

Question

How do I pay to stay at camp?

Answer

If you're staying in cabins, they are $25 per person, per night. To book by credit card/debit card/bank account, please go to www.paypal.me/MaryThanhTa. You can also pay cash to the camp that weekend.

Question

OK I gotta ask, is there wifi?

Answer

Unfortunately, yes the camp does have wifi. Hopefully we have offered enough activities to entertain both adults and the kids and we can all put away our phones and ipads for the weekend. Can I get an Amen?

Question

I'm not staying at the camp overnight in a cabin, can I still partake in the activities?

Answer

Absolutely! Come to camp for the day and join in the activities you like. Go back to your hotel to get ready, then join us for the ceremony. Or, if you'd like to save a car trip and get ready at camp, bring everything you need and use the shared bathroom/shower facilities (bathrooms are rustic and simple) to get ready for the ceremony. Whatever floats your boat!

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

Unfortunately, Camp Friendship has an equestrian center with horses who may be frightened by your four-legged friends, so please leave your pups at home.

Question

Can I sleep in a tent?

Answer

YES! In fact, the bride and groom's honeymoon suite will be a big ol' tent by the river. You're more than welcome to bring a tent for the full camp experience. There's plenty of space (600 acres, to be exact). There's also no cost for tent camping. Please let us know ahead of time if you plan on it!

Question

And finally, why are you getting married at a summer camp.

Answer

Because it sounded like fun, and we like to have fun :)

For all the days along the way
