This is a bit more of a journey, about an hour and 45 minutes from town, but anyone looking for a fun day trip to explore we highly recommend a visit to Crater Lake. Absolutely stunning views and trails and some of the bluest waters you will ever see. Just make sure to check the website before you go to make sure there are no weather-related closures and bring a jacket, it will be MUCH colder up there than it will be down in the valley.
About one hour outside of town, but Lake of the Woods offers beautiful hikes and a lake front restaurant that has one of the most delicious burgers you've ever had.
