Hikes: Most of the hikes in Big Sur are pull offs along the coast line. Just stop and hike down to the beaches on your way in! Once you get into the forested areas, there are a couple of more clearly marked routes. Look up a couple before you come to see if any interest you. Food: There are some great restaurants in Big Sur (one of them being our venue) If you have an opportunity to go further into Big Sur, go to Napenthe. It is a cliffside restaurant with a wonderful outside patio and lookout as well as a really cool shop underneath! River Inn, next door to our venue is also a great option for food! Hang: Our venue is in between campgrounds as well as the River Inn which has a large back deck and Adirondack chairs in the river to have a couple of drinks, read or just chill with your feet in the water! Another spot to check out would be The Henry Miller Library, a tiny library hidden in the woods with a bunch of interesting art installations surrounding it.
Attractions: Go Whale watching or visit the Aquarium! Monterey is known for their marine life, which is active all year around. Cannery Row and Fisherman's Warf are the touristy spots, but good if you are looking for some souvenirs or just to walk down a cool historical street. Food: We truly go out in Big Sur for a lot of our meals, there are a couple of really awesome hole in the wall spots we like. Reach out to us for some of our recommendations! Golf: The cheapest in town is Monterey Pines, though there is pretty much a course in every neighborhood. Mark's favorite would be Bayonet (there are two courses over there, the other being Black Horse) Even if you do not golf at one of the Pebble Beach courses ($$$) its worth it to do 17mi drive and see the awesome coastline.
