Honestly? We just never stopped hanging out. It was the first time in a long time where we both felt so magnetized. We began our first date hiking and ended up reconnecting later that night to watch the bioluminescence. They say timing is everything, so naturally within a week of us dating, the world shut down... People were told to stay in their house, social distance at the grocery story and they certainly advised against meeting strangers off of the internet. So we did what any rational people would do in that situation and moved in together within 3 months of knowing each other. We were both nervous we would get sick of each other - but we never did. Every day we got to learn something new about each other and as the years passed we watched each other grow. We became best friends and supported one another through hardships and successes. Our bond got to strengthen as we navigated cross country moves, career changes and reprised life goals. And just like that, half a decade has felt like a blink of an eye. Luckily we have a few blinks left! There are few times in your life when you look at a stranger and know they will have a lasting impact on your life. We might not have known the extent of the impact on that first night, but we both felt something we couldn't explain. Until now.
