For our wedding guests visiting Long Island, we highly recommend taking a quick trip into NYC! Just a short train ride away, the city is packed with iconic sights and unforgettable experiences. Explore landmarks like Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, or the Empire State Building—which was one of our very first NYC adventures together. And if you get the chance, catch a Broadway show - Grace’s absolute favorite NYC activity! PS - New York City was also the destination for our very first “vacation” together!
We went here on our first date, and it’s also where Vincent proposed -so needless to say, this spot holds some of our happiest memories! For an added bonus, stop by Seaport Deli in East Setauket for the BEST deli sandwiches and recreate our very first date.
Grace's favorite spot for the classic NY bagel!!
Port Jefferson Village is one of our favorite local spots - it’s right on the water and perfect for a relaxed afternoon. You can walk along the harbor, check out the little shops, and grab some fresh seafood (The Steam Room is always a solid choice). Grace’s family has been coming here for years, and getting ice cream in the little alleyway is basically a tradition at this point!
Cabo Fresh Mexican Grill is where we had our unofficial first date - and it’s been a favorite ever since. It’s got a Moe’s or Chipotle-style vibe, so don’t expect a sit-down restaurant with waiters. It’s quick, casual, and perfect for a laid-back meal that still brings back fun memories from the very beginning of our story.
If you’re in town for the wedding and looking for something fun to do, check out Citi Field! It’s home to the New York Mets and one of Vincent’s absolute favorite places to spend a day. Even if you’re not a huge baseball fan, the energy at the stadium is seriously contagious. Grab a hot dog, walk around the ballpark, and just take it all in -it’s such a fun experience. Bonus points if you catch a game or take a tour… Vincent will be way too excited to hear you went!
The rivalry between us is as real as a Mets vs. Yankees game! Vincent’s a die-hard Mets fan, all about Citi Field, while Grace is proudly reppin’ the Yankees - thanks to her dad, Scotty D. And if you find yourself at Yankee Stadium, you're in for a treat. Monument Park is a must-see, honoring legends like Babe Ruth and Derek Jeter, and the views from the stadium? Way better than Queens (just saying). You can even visit the Yankees Museum before first pitch - try finding that at Citi Field! We’re keeping the rivalry friendly (for now), but if our teams ever meet in the World Series… all bets are off.
Robke’s is a go-to spot for big family celebrations - birthdays, anniversaries, and everything in between. The portions are generous, the food is always on point (especially the pasta and seafood), and it’s been part of so many special memories over the years. Fun fact: celebs like Billy Joel and Jon Bon Jovi have eaten here too, so you know it’s got some Long Island charm. If you're in the area and craving Italian, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Montauk - affectionately known as “The End” - makes for a great little day trip if you’re in the mood for ocean views and a breath of fresh air. It’ll still be a bit chilly in April, but that just adds to the charm! Bundle up, explore the iconic lighthouse, stroll the quiet beaches, and enjoy some fresh seafood without the summer crowds. Grace and her family love it year-round, and we think you’ll see why once you make the drive out east.
