As much as we love children, this event is for adults only.

Question

If I'm flying into SeaTac, should I rent a car?

Answer

If you plan to stay on Vashon, we strongly encourage you to rent a car. There is no Lyft or Uber service on Vashon.

What time should I arrive at Froggsong Gardens?

Answer

Froggsong Gardens will be open starting at 3 pm for a pre-wedding welcome hour. Light refreshments and drinks will be served. The ceremony will begin at 4 pm.

What time should I plan to catch a ferry?

Answer

Catching a ferry in the summer months to Vashon can be challenging. There are no reservations. Lines are often long, and boats are frequently not on time. We recommend arriving early in the afternoon since the ceremony starts at 4 pm. There are many things to do on the island when you arrive. Check out our things to do tab for some suggested activities from us. If you are traveling from the north end (Fauntleroy/Vashon), the ferry will take approximately 20 minutes to cross the Sound and arrive on Vashon. If you are traveling from the south-end (Point Defiance/Tacoma), the ferry will take approximately 15 minutes to cross the Sound and arrive on Vashon. Make sure you check the schedule and if you are planning on traveling to the island on the day of the ceremony, look at the weekend sailing schedule. https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/washington-state-ferries

Once I'm on Vashon Island, how long does it take to travel to Froggsong Gardens?

Answer

If you are traveling from the north-end ferry terminal (Fauntleroy/West Seattle), it will take you approximately 20 minutes to get to Froggsong Gardens. If you are traveling from the south-end ferry terminal (Tahlequah/Tacoma), it will take you about 10 minutes to get to Froggsong Gardens.

Will parking be available at Froggsong Gardens?

Answer

There will be ample available parking in the open field before you reach the gardens. If you need to be dropped off closer to the entrance, feel free to pull up to the gate and then return to the open field to park your vehicle.

What is the suggested attire?

Answer

We suggest semi-formal, summer attire for the wedding. We would not recommend wearing stiletto heels as there is lots of grass to walk on throughout the gardens.

Where should I stay on the island?

Answer

Some homes, apartments, and a couple of bed and breakfast rooms are listed on Airbnb and VRBO. When you search for properties on Vashon, Airbnb displays many properties on and off the island. Make sure before you book that the property is located on Vashon Island. You will want to book your place as soon as possible. During the summer months, Vashon is a busy tourist location, and rentals on the island quickly fill.

How much does it cost to take the Vashon Ferry?

Answer

The cost of the ferry ride depends on the number of people in your car. There is a flat rate for the vehicle and driver. Each additional passenger in the car costs around $6-7 per person.
