We are asking everyone to wear business casual/cocktail attire for our wedding. For the girls, please no informal beach sundresses or flip flops. For the men, don’t feel the need to wear a full suit. Ties and jackets are not necessary; dress pants and a button down will do just fine. Dress sandals for both men and women are perfectly suitable. We trust your judgment! Our ceremony will be beach front, but not directly on the beach, so you’ll never have to worry about sand. Our reception will then be on the hotel rooftop overlooking the entire property. Nicole’s bridesmaids will be wearing different shades and textures of pink, and Chris's groomsmen will be wearing tan suits, so if you don't want to match the bridal party, we suggest avoiding those colors!

Because you are all spending a lot of money to attend our destination wedding, we are NOT asking for any wedding gifts! Your presence on our special day is the only thing that matters to us. However, if you cannot attend our wedding and wish to send a gift, please contact the bride directly who will provide you with a private registry. This will have a limited amount of "wish list" items to choose from, all of which were hand-selected by the bride and groom for their future house.
Per the "Travel" section of our website, the adults-only side of the resort is called the Zilara Cap Cana. Meanwhile, the family-friendly side is called the Ziva Cap Cana. Most of our rooms in our block are reserved on the Zilara (adults-only) side, with a few reserved on the Ziva (family) side. Please make sure to read carefully when selecting your room from our list of options, as they explicitly say which side of the resort it's on.
The official currency of the DR is the Dominican Peso. However, in and around Punta Cana, the U.S. Dollar is widely accepted as currency in stores, resorts, and restaurants. Because of this, and the fact that your stay is almost entirely pre-paid for, we recommend you travel with U.S. Dollars and do not need to participate in currency exchange. You DO, however, need your passport, so make sure you check expiration dates ASAP and plan ahead for 2023!
We hired a wonderful, professional photographer to help capture our special day. We are asking our guests to be just be our guests, and avoid using their cameras during the ceremony to be fully present in the moment with us. That being said, there will be a "photo minute" after the bride walks down the aisle. During this time, all guests are encouraged to capture their own personal photos of the happy couple at the altar, before the ceremony begins.
Yes, the DR is safe to travel to, especially the city of Cap Cana! It is a gated neighborhood that has tight security. In fact, you cannot even get into Cap Cana unless you are resident of the city or are a guest at one of the resorts. If you decide to explore the beautiful Dominican Republic outside of the resort, you have the option to book excursions or travel with the Hyatt directly. All tourists should use their common sense when visiting any international destination, such as the Caribbean. This means protecting your belongings and staying alert in areas outside of the resort.
Since we’ve chosen to get married in the beautiful Caribbean, it would be a waste to get married indoors! Our wedding ceremony will be outside by the beach gazebo, and our cocktail hour and reception will take place on the rooftop terrace at the Ziva. The terrace is partially covered, but will have gorgeous views of the entire property, a perfect backdrop for photos!
Chris once said to Nicole: "If our life together was soundtrack, it would be all uppers." So expect minimal slow songs and a lot of high energy dance songs from our DJ. Our favorite genres you can expect to hear a lot of are classic rock/oldies and throwbacks from the 90's and early 2000’s. Comfortable shoes are highly suggested after the ceremony!
