World-class ski & snowboard mountain. If you are considering skiing or snowboarding, we highly recommend looking at Ikon pass options: www.ikonpass.com They offer 2-, 3-, or 4-day passes, as well as different ranges of season passes. The Ikon pass offers skiing and snowboarding at up to 50 destinations worldwide. Purchasing even the multi-day Ikon pass is much more economical versus day lift tickets from the mountain. Link below is for Steamboat Ski Resort winter activities including ice skating, snow tubing, horse drawn sleigh rides, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and more. Feel free to ask us any questions about the mountain or the Ikon pass.
Gaper day is a national ski holiday on April 1st every year where people celebrate the finale of the ski season by dressing up in unique and fun costumes on the mountain. It is a general great time and excellent people watching. You can enjoy this from the base of the mountain or while skiing/riding. Gaper [gey-per] noun: 1. A skier or snowboarder who is completely clueless. 2. An acronym meaning Guaranteed Accident Prone on Every Run. 3. Usually distinguished by their "gaper gap", the gap between goggles and a helmet/hat. Be sure to check out the ski resort on Saturday April 1st for this event.
On April 1st at 3PM there will be a free concert right at the base of the mountain near the gondola boarding area. We will be there and hope to gather with everyone again at the concert and the surrounding Ski Time Square area.
