The ceremony is scheduled to take place outdoors, weather permitting. The cocktail hour and reception will be indoors with access to the outdoor decks around the lodge.
Black Tie Optional: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.
There will be a coat and boot check in the building at the top of the gondola. You will have to walk across a ski trail to access the gondola. If you don't want to wear your heels in the snow, you can bring them with you and check your boots, along with your coat at the top of the gondola.
See the travel tab of this website for lodging recommendations, discount codes, and other travel information.
You know we love your kids, however the venue has limited capacity. Outside of our families and wedding party, we have not included kids at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
Your presence is present enough, but should you wish to give a gift, please see the registry tab of our wedding website or feel free to think outside the box.
Average high temperature of 50F and average low of 25F, but it can feel much warmer with the sun and 0% humidity. The low is typically during the overnight period, and the middle of the range will be the first half of the day warming up into the afternoon. Snow is generally tapering off in the end of March, but it is not uncommon to see snowfall well into April. We will have boxes of hand warmers available for the ceremony, if needed, as you come in.
Snowshoe, snowmobile, snow tube, hot springs, massage/spa, shopping downtown, enjoy the views from one of the base area's many restaurants/bars. There are many 3rd party tour operators for these activities. See our things to do for some more details.
DO NOT rely on Uber/Lyft for airport transfers from the airport, they do not typically operate in the airport area. There are limited Uber/Lyft vehicles operating in Steamboat Springs. They are usually available in town (not always late) and you may have to wait for one to become available.
Taco Cabo – great breakfast tacos. Right on the Yampa River in downtown Steamboat. Yampa Valley Kitchen – Wonderful sit-down brunch spot. Open at 7:30 AM. Colorado Bagel Company – great grab and go bagel spot with a NJ stamp of approval. Powder Day Doughnuts – satisfying your sweet tooth.
Besame – all time favorite in Steamboat. Tapas are fantastic (they also do family style portions though we've never made it past the tapas). Great cocktails and desserts too. Also, they do a daily happy hour 4 - 5:30 PM (30% off tapas and 50% off drink specials). The Ore House – great steak & chops spot including an all you can eat salad bar in a rustic barn setting. This is our favorite steak and prime rib spot in town. Backdoor Grill – divey burger joint, but if you're craving a burger this is the place. Nika also loves the curly fries. Mambo Italiano – great Italian food, pasta, and pizza options. Daily happy hour specials from 4 to 5:30 PM.
Most of the other recommendations were in downtown Steamboat which may not be near where you're staying. Here are some others that we enjoy right on the mountain. At the Base Area: Timber and Torch – great appetizers, outdoor firepits, and don't miss the butterscotch schnapps hot chocolate. Saddles @ The Sheraton – majestic mountain views from the deck right at the base area. Outdoor firepits, snacks, and drinks. Los Locos – Mexico in the snow? Tequila and tacos. Slopeside – Brick oven pizza and other American fare. Right on the slopes with indoor/outdoor seating. T-bar – Old ski patrol shack converted to an atypical mountain food and drinks spot right on the slopes with music and limited indoor seating. Accessible by a short walk from the base or stop in on your skis at the end of the day. Truffle Pig – fancier fare right at the base. Happy hour 2 - 5 PM daily. Cafe Diva – the fanciest of fare. Apres Burger Bistro – off the mountain a bit, but a short walk from the base area. Great burgers and a brewery tasting room located below.
Big Iron Coffee Co. – coffee, pastries, and tea. Sit-down area inside. Downtown Steamboat. Beard and Braid – coffee, pastries, and tea. Sit-down area inside. Downtown Steamboat. Other coffee options at the base area and around town.
