We're getting married!

Nearly 15 years ago we met at Virginia Tech. We would love to tell you there was a great meet-cute, but we were introduced over a game of quarters at one of the ski team parties. We spent a lot of time together senior year before graduation and then put some miles between us, with Nika heading back to the DC area while Nick moved out to Colorado. We kept in touch over the years through texting, late night phone calls (there was a time difference), and occasionally seeing each other at mutual friends’ life events, football games, or ski resorts. While Nika was working remotely during COVID, she asked Nick if she could stack 13 years of Steamboat skiing invites into a one month mountain adventure in the winter of 2021. One month became five and the rest is history.

Nick proposed at one of Nika's favorite places - on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland on November 27th, 2021. It was perfect! Nika's brothers were hiding in the dunes to take photos of the event as we returned from our early morning walk on the beach. We were ecstatic to be able to celebrate with both our families afterwards.
