"The Stitt's are a lucky bunch- The women are strong, The men are good looking, And the children are above average." ~ a quote from Colleen (and maybe a smidge from Prairie Home Companion) after the inaugural Apex Mountain and Meadow 1/10th of a Half Marathon (and not yet Games) What initially began as a way to get the Stitt family up to the mine for joy, love, and weed eradication has slowly gained a life of it's own. From a berry picking history tour to a high altitude beer mile to a full on adventure race, the tenth of a half has managed to always be exactly what it's supposed to be: a reason for us to get together. Commraderie, elaborate attire, wild antics, joyful Long John & Mimosa bingeing, s'mores, and a steep competition are all consistent aspects of this 2+ day joy ride. This year will be no different in those regards. Those of us at the current helm of the event, The Ringmaster and her begrudging Grunt and the effervescent Morgan are elated to bring you the 10th Annual Event (tentatively) scheduled for Saturday, July 3, 2021. A list of (also tentative) events can be found on the Schedule page and will include the opportunity to RSVP for yourself and each member of your party. This is where you will have the option to RSVP to each event and answer such in depth questions as "Would you like a shirt? If yes, in what size?" and the always bewildering "Where are you planning to stay?". Please refer to the FAQs page if you have any questions. Also, because I am using the same site as last year and many of you did answer questions, please just go back through and re-RSVP. This will update your answers for this year. I am counting on you guys to answer! Hopefully all of this information helps everyone to make their travel arrangements and keeps everyone more or less in the same state of confusion. Oh and attendance is not compulsory but participation for those in attendance will be. There are NO spectators this year. :)
Yes, I did in fact use a free wedding website to build this event page and no, there will not (to my knowledge) be a wedding at the Mine on July 3rd so please do not be surprised by the "meal options" on the shirt RSVP page and do click on them to fully respond with sizes for each member of your party. Always scroll all the way down for details and remember to hit "Submit RSVP" at the end. This site works well on both desktops and mobile devices so you shouldn't have any trouble with it. Also there might be mentions of the lucky couple (Miss Apex Mountain & Mr. Meadow Event) and a wedding or ceremony or reception but there are aspects I couldn't completely change so just ignore the man behind the curtain.
