The Wedding Website of Alex Yu and Stuart Kenney
Even though Islandwood is just a short distance from downtown Seattle - we promise that you will feel worlds away once you arrive at this beautiful destination. Please take a look below to see our suggestions on how to get to Islandwood for our wedding weekend. We understand that you are all coming from different places, but hopefully this guide will answer most of your questions on how best to get there. We can't wait to see you all!

Flight

Seattle-Tacoma Int'l Airport (SEA)

Non-local guests should book their flights in and out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport - (SEA). Located south of the city, "Sea-Tac" serves all major airlines both domestic and international. / / / FOR PLANNING PURPOSES: Getting to Islandwood | Saturday, Aug. 31st - - - It should take roughly 2.5 hours to get from Seattle-Tacoma Int'l Airport to Islandwood. Keep this in mind when booking your travel so you can arrive on Saturday with enough time to have some dinner and get checked into your room by 8pm. Leaving Islandwood | Monday, Sept. 2nd - - - When planning return flights, keep in mind that the earliest ferry leaves Bainbridge Island at about 5:30am. It will take about 2.5 hours to get to the airport. Make sure you plan your flights accordingly with these times in mind. ALSO - Monday is a holiday, so travel times may be a little longer than usual.

Train

Link Light Rail

Once you have landed in Seattle, follow the signs and head to the Link Light Rail train station. The Link Light Rail leaves SeaTac every 10 minutes and is a 45-minute ride to Pioneer Square Station. The cost is roughly $3 per person for the ride. PLEASE NOTE!! Make sure you purchase your ticket at one of the kiosks before heading up to the train platform. Tickets are NOT sold on the train and there are transit officers who check for tickets once the train gets going. Once you get off at the Pioneer Square Station, the Seattle Waterfront Ferry Terminal is just a short 4-block walk. The ferry terminal address is: 801 Alaskan Way Seattle, WA 98104 - - - - If you choose, you can also Uber or Lyft directly from the Airport to the Seattle Waterfront Ferry Terminal - which should cost you around $40-$50. - - - Please click below for information on getting from the Airport to the Link Light Rail:

Travel Note

Seattle Ferry Terminal

Getting to Islandwood involves a quintessential PNW experience - riding a ferry! Walk-on passengers will need to show up at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time in order to purchase their ticket (~$8.50). For any guests renting a car, there are variable rates for the car to drive on the ferry and summer wait times can be a bit longer. The downtown Seattle Waterfront Ferry Terminal has two different ferries that leave from it. Make sure you get aboard the ferry headed to BAINBRIDGE ISLAND and not the one headed to Bremerton. - - - AGAIN: DO NOT GET ON THE BREMERTON FERRY! - This will take you to the wrong place! - - - Once on the ferry, the crossing takes about 35 minutes and you will get to enjoy some of the most remarkable views of the city and the numerous islands of the Puget Sound! Pro Tip: Make sure you walk outside once the ferry gets going. This is the best way to take it all in! Please click below for the most up-to-date ferry schedule:

All of the weekend's events will be taking place on the Islandwood campus, and we have reserved a spot JUST FOR YOU! Islandwood has four modern, northwest-style lodges with guest rooms that have a combination of queen beds as well as built-in bunk beds. Each room sleeps 2-6 people and has a private bathroom. Because we are hoping to share our weekend with as many of you as possible - we will be assigning our guests to rooms once we receive all our RSVPs. You may be assigned "bunk mates" for the weekend - but please trust that we will be carefully selecting your fellow campers so that everyone has a great experience! The rooms cost $180/night for double occupancy and an additional $30/person/night. Once the room assignments have been finalized and our weekend gets closer, we will be sending out a separate email for you to book your room through the Islandwood booking system. Rental Car

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport - Rental Cars

3150 South 160th Street
SeaTac, WA 98188

While we feel that a rental car will not be necessary for the weekend - some of our guest may still like having a rental car for the weekend. Rental cars are available at an off-site facility near the SeaTac Airport. There is a shuttle bus that leaves every few minutes from the baggage claim area of the main terminal. There is plenty of parking available on the Islandwood campus, but please allow extra travel time to arrive at Islandwood in time for the festivities to begin! During the busy summer months, the ferries can have a long wait and it may take one or two boats for you and your car to get across to the island. You are more than welcome to wait for the ferry... - OR - You can actually drive onto Bainbridge Island via the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. During this time of year, this route may actually be faster - though it will not include a ride on the ferry. The choice is up to you, but we look forward to having you join us at Islandwood for the Welcome Bonfire at 8PM.

For all the days along the way
