Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP as soon as possible, with the latest being July 1st, 2019. This will give us enough time to assign your accommodations and for us to prepare everything for your arrival!

Question

What are the lodging accommodations?

Answer

All of the weekend's events will be taking place on the Islandwood campus, and we have reserved a spot JUST FOR YOU! Islandwood has four modern, northwest-style lodges with guest rooms that have a combination of queen beds as well as built-in bunk beds. Each room sleeps 2-6 people and has a private bathroom. Because we are hoping to share our weekend with as many of you as possible - we will be assigning our guests to rooms once we receive all our RSVPs. You may be assigned "bunk mates" for the weekend - but please trust that we will be carefully selecting your fellow campers so that everyone has a great experience! The rooms cost $180/night for double occupancy and an additional $30/person/night. Once the room assignments have been finalized and our weekend gets closer, we will be sending out a separate email for you to book your room through the Islandwood booking system.

Question

How do I pay for the lodging accommodations?

Answer

After July 1st, we will send out an EventBrite email with registration details, along with room assignments. Please hold until then - all guests will be guaranteed a room who would like one!

Question

When might you suggest I travel?

Answer

The travel time from the Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA) to Islandwood can take upwards of 2.5+ hours - if you follow the suggested travel plans. For the wedding party and family members attending the Rehearsal Dinner, please arrive at Islandwood by 5pm Pacific. Please note that ferries can cause unexpected delays, and we will have lots of pre-wedding activities for you to participate in. Please keep this in mind as you plan your trip. People walking onto the ferries shouldn't have any trouble. Those guests who choose to rent a car and take the ferry may experience some delays because of the busy summer season. If you are driving - consider driving onto the island instead by going through Tacoma and across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge onto Bainbridge Island. During the summer months, this may actually be a quicker route!

Question

Is there a dress code? What should I pack?

Answer

For our ceremony and reception, we ask that you please dress in "Summer Formal". Keep in mind that the ceremony will be outdoors and you will be walking on grass. (probably best not to wear stiletto heels!) - - - Temperatures should be very pleasant during the days (shorts and t-shirts) and evening temperatures can be a bit cooler (long pants and a light jacket). Please check the weather before coming, however, so you are prepared and comfortable while here. We will be spending plenty of time outdoors, so be sure to bring layers and a rain-jacket. If you plan on joining the yoga or naturalist-led hike activities, please bring appropriate clothing and shoes for relaxing and exercising. (NOTE: there is always a possibility of it raining - this is Seattle, after all - so we'd suggest packing a rain jacket just in case...always be prepared!)

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your weekend away! For this reason, we ask that the kiddos stay at home. Certain family members, however, will be bringing their children.

Question

What can we expect weather-wise in Seattle?

Answer

It will be Summer in the Pacific Northwest, which, in our humble opinion, is the best of any city in the country! While Labor Day Weekend is typically beautiful in Seattle, the weather can be fickle. We suggest bringing a light rain jacket for being outdoors. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved indoors from Creaky Tree Meadow to the Great Hall. September weather in Seattle can be unpredictable, so plan for anything from chilly and drizzly to warm and dry.

Question

Is there parking on-site?

Answer

If you opt to drive or rent a car, rest assured that there is plenty of free parking at the Islandwood Property.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes Indeed! Please visit the "Registry" tab to see our registries at Zola and Amazon.

Question

What amenities are provided at Islandwood?

Answer

Please note the rooms are not equipped with TVs, telephones, alarm clocks, coffeepots, irons, hairdryers or toiletries. Showers offer an all-in-one multi-purpose wash in a large dispenser. Each lodge features a Guest Closet where guests can find extra pillows, blankets and towels.

Question

What activities are in store this weekend?

Answer

There will be plenty of pre-wedding activities that you should join us for! There will be options of going on a guided nature walk, climbing the stairs up the canopy tower, playing lawn games, taking your own walk through the forest, and connecting with friends and family. You can arrive any time on Saturday, knowing that there will be fun throughout the day.

Question

What food will be available?

Answer

IslandWood is excellent at accommodating dietary restrictions. Every meal will have meat, pescatarian, and vegetarian options available. All meals will have gluten-free and dairy-free options. The kitchen is allergy-aware, so those with nut allergies or who are celiac can know that they are in good hands. The servers and staff will know what ingredients are in each dish, so feel free to ask them if you have concerns.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We want this weekend to be spent with our closest family and friends. If your invitation says "and Guest," then yes, otherwise we request just your presence!
