Best Man
Christopher is my big brother and there is no one else I'd rather have as my best man. He helped me pull off my proposal to Alex- which happened within a couple days of the two of them meeting- and despite evidence to the contrary, he can be a really nice person. I've missed him more than I care to admit since I've moved to the USA, and I'm so happy he'll be here with us on the day. He's currently working as the operations manager of a fleet of hipster-chic food trucks - splitting his time between the day-to-day management of them and cultivating his passion for food by flipping gourmet burgers.
Maid of Honor
I've known Ream for almost twenty years. She's my best friend and a genuinely kind person. Even when I was playing the "Where in the World is Alex Motter?" game, she always made an effort to know what was going on in my life. After my first date with Andrew, I called her as I walked home and told her I could definitely see myself falling in love with him. She has been witness to every major moment in my life and she's the only choice for my maid of honor. She works in occupational therapy and lives very close to Salt Creek Beach- she has impeccable taste and is the best person to ask about all things fashion, food, and fun!
Bridesmaid
We met during my study abroad year in England at Durham University (twelve years ago!) After graduation, I lived with her and other close friends in Durham and then tried to teach English somewhere around Europe. When that didn't work out, I stayed with her wonderful family in Flitwick for two weeks before returning to the states. She and Chris (her boyfriend) were the first of my Durham friends to meet Andy- we stayed with them on our way back from Cornwall after getting engaged. She's one of my favorite people and has always been there for me. She lives just outside of London with her fifteen cats... and Chris.
Bridesmaid
Gabi is my oldest cousin and she's the closest thing I have to a sister. We've probably seen "The Sandlot" together a thousand times and have lost count of how many times we've slept with the lights on after watching a scary movie. All of my favorite childhood memories include her- even when she gave me the chickenpox! When Andrew and I had first matched on Tinder, I told her about him and sent her a picture and she was 100% pro 'the Englishman.' If there is a movie quote you're trying to think of, she knows it. She's a boss lady at Starbucks and an expert on coffee- the elixir of life.
Officiant
Cam is Alex's uncle and was the first member of her family that Andrew met. He and Lucas (one of his sons- Alex's cousin) were visiting the east coast and checking out colleges (spoiler alert: he picked Brown University because he's a smarty pants!) It was only six weeks after our first date, but Andrew was already promising Cam he'd take him for chicken wings the next time he was in Boston (still owe him chicken wings, come to think of it). He taught Alex how to drive, bought her her first laptop, and has been an important constant in her life. We're very happy he agreed to be our officiant.
