Carnival is an outdoor festival that celebrates winter between late January and mid-February. For a period of 10 days, the city is transformed into a snow festival with numerous decorations, ice sculptures and lights. If you are planning to attend the events of the Quebec Winter Carnival, you will need an effigy, which is your pass to all carnival sites. To learn more and to purchase your effigy, please visit: https://carnaval.qc.ca/fr/a-propos-effigie/
Winter Playground: Enjoy many snow slides during the day or night. Glide down the beautiful skateway which is illuminated in the evening. Have a great time snow rafting, sliding down the steep Himalaya at top speed and experiencing the Tornado, a one-of-a-kind slide unique to Village Vacances Valcartier. Celebrate the joys of winter with family and friends. Indoor waterpark: The Bora Parc offers 102,000 sq. ft. of summer fun all year long! This Polynesian-style park offers a large wave pool, over 14 water slides, a family pool with water games, an adventure river with many activities, a double surf wave attraction and a restaurant with terrace and private rooms. Rain or shine, our unique indoor waterpark in Quebec is designed to provide people of all ages with a tropical paradise playground.
Our dear foodie friend, Darcy Cain, created a Google Maps guide to the best restaurants in the Quebec City area. As it will be a busy weekend with the Quebec City Winter Carnival in town, we suggest making reservations.
Need some relaxation while you are in town? Check out the Strom Nordic Spa featuring thermal experiences, a float pool, and massage services.
At 83 m (272.3') high, a full 30 m (98.4') taller than Niagara Falls, the Montmorency Falls are as spectacular a sight in the summer as in the winter. They are located in a park of the same name only 15 minutes from Old Québec. This is one destination you will not want to miss, as it is where the St. Lawrence River stretches out not far from the base of the cliffs.
