Andee and Alex met on Bumble, a female-founded dating app where the woman has to make the first move to start the conversation. Andee, intrigued by Alex's dashing good looks (the freckles!), his love for motorsport, and his adorable photo with his mom on his profile, started the conversation. That conversation took off and translated into their first date at Wakefield Bar where they stayed until the restaurant shut down for the night. That was March 11, 2020 and within the next couple days Andee and Alex went on two more dates. Their third date was an emergency trip to the grocery store, as the world began to shut down due to the pandemic.

Andee and Alex continued their relationship dawned with masks, rubber gloves, and A LOT of take-out meals. Confined to their apartments, there were a lot of unique dates including Bob Ross paint nights, virtual cooking lessons with Gordon Ramsey, endless video games, and LOTS of Netflix shows. Andee and Alex experienced their first fight while playing the video game Overcooked which is a collaboration game where the players are chefs and work together to complete customer orders within a time limit. Alex needed a tomato for the recipe and required Andee to throw it to him. At his tomato request, Andee replied "I don't have time to get you a tomato!" and Alex, surprised by the outburst over a vegetable laughed to himself as they lost that round. Andee and Alex continued their dating adventure through the pandemic, road-tripping to California, the Oregon Coast, and Fred Meyer. Eventually, they welcomed an additional adventure buddy into their lives, a dog. Their new Mini Austrailian Sheppard, named Checo Legend, pays homage to their love of Formula 1.

Alex popped the question on October 8, 2022. In a true demonstration of FALLing in love, Alex asked Andee during her favorite season, in one of her favorite places, the pumpkin patch. On that incredibly warm fall morning, Alex leads Andee out to the pumpkin fields to meet their friends Adam and Tiffany who shared their love of fall. Upon arrival at the perfect pumpkin-y spot in the patch, Andee's best friend, Mieko, jumped out of the bushes as a surprise! Tyler, Mieko's husband strolled up with a laugh at the shrieks of surprise that is Mieko and Andee's signature move every time they see each other. This distracted Andee long enough for Alex to get down on one knee behind her. Upon turning around to discover Alex on one knee, Andee tackled him before he could even pop the question. Andee backed off to allow Alex to shakily ask "Will you marry me?" and said "Of course!" and tackled him once again. The newly engaged couple took home approximately 10 pumpkins, ate crepes, explored the gift shop, and took numerous photos with all their friends at the pumpkin patch. Later, Alex surprised Andee with an engagement party at their favorite brewery where all their friends were their to toast with champagne! It was the PERFECT day.
