So here's the tea... I'm a wise-cracking, extroverted Capricorn who excels at corralling your rowdy family for photos and charming Aunt Carol, the self-deemed professional iPad photographer. Ever since I was little, huddled on the couch with my five siblings rewatching The Lion King, I knew that I wanted to be a storyteller. Growing up in a creative household, I studied a wide range of arts before settling on filmmaking. I envisioned in my head that I would be the next Spielberg, but after shooting my first wedding in 2013 all my plans changed.

I first started in this industry as a filmmaker and transitioned to doing weddings after shooting my first one in 2013. Because of my background, I approach each wedding as if it were a film and make sure your photos have the best lighting, angles and that you and your partner feel comfortable being in front of the camera.

Every time we learn from a client that they’ve booked Maya Papaya Pictures for their wedding day photos, we celebrate! From the detail shots of invitations, shoes, and jewelry to the magical, glowing newlywed portraits, to the animated candid shots of late-night dance parties, Maya’s galleries are always a delight to browse through. Of course, our goal is always to find good photos of our floral designs and we’re never disappointed by how she captures and immortalizes all of the details that go into making each wedding unique!     Maya did my engagement and wedding pictures and they came out absolutely amazing. Maya is truly a pleasure to work with, she is so sweet! Maya isn’t just your photographer on your wedding day, she makes sure things are running smoothly, she’s there to remind you to sit down, have a snack and water (because as brides we forget to do those things), and I can’t emphasize enough on how sweet and fun she is. We had so many compliments on her personality and her actual pictures. Maya has an eye for photography and she can certainly make magic happen with her lens. I can’t express how many compliments we got both on the engagement photos and the wedding photos.

    I don't know another way to say this...Maya "got" us. We're what I'd call a less-than traditional couple and from the moment we met Maya, she was all in. Every, and I mean EVERY, person we've shown our pictures to has remarked at not only the technical beauty of the images but how they captured us perfectly. I think she might have had as much fun as we did taking our photos.
