I am a self-taught home baker and proud mother of one. My journey began as a paralegal, but everything changed when I baked and decorated my first cake in 2014 for Ella's 4th birthday. I wanted to create a memorable experience for her party, and little did I know it would ignite a deep passion within me. Soon I found myself baking for friends & family. Before I knew it, I had developed a substantial customer base. Over the years, I have come to realize that baking is a pure and simple expression of love and joy for others. In January 2020, I made the bold decision to follow my passion and pursue my dreams in the world of baking.

In February 2022, I relocated my bakery to the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois. I have been personally responsible for the design and construction of my legendary custom cakes. Each cake is meticulously hand-designed and tailored to suit the unique occasion it celebrates. I take great pride in creating not just delicious treats but also unforgettable experiences. Baking has become more than just a hobby or a profession for me; it is a way for me to spread love, joy, and happiness through my art. I look forward to continuing this journey and sharing my creations with the world.

    We loved Elisa's Cake!

    Elisa's Cake by the Pound was a fantastic choice for our wedding cake. Their communication throughout the process was prompt and consistent, which put us at ease. The quality of their work was exceptional - the cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious. We only needed a small cake for our wedding, and they were very accommodating, offering the perfect sized cake for a reasonable price. It exceeded our expectations and our guests raved about how great it tasted. We highly recommend Elisa's Cake by the Pound for any couple's wedding dessert needs.

Prices vary depending on size, detail, intricacy & complexity of your design. For custom cakes, we have a $150 minimum, which generally serves about 10-15 people.
So glad you asked! YES! Our cakes and pastries are made using only high-quality ingredients including real butter, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla beans, eggs and fresh fruit.
Yes, we offer a gluten-less Vanilla bean cheesecake. We also offer a chocolate vegan cake with vegan fudge frosting. We look forward to offering more dietary restrictive goodies soon!
Yes, we deliver within 15 miles of the Chicago area. Minimum order for delivery is $300. Price of delivery is based on location.
Unfortunately, we do NOT ship cakes. We DO, however ship our cheesecakes, pound cakes, cake in a jar and cake push pops!
Yes, we offer cake tastings for wedding cakes only in the form of sample boxes. We charge $40 per sample box, but when you book your order with us, the $40 gets applied toward your order. You can choose up to three cake/frosting combinations. The sample box contains two samples of each flavor choice.
Wedding cake base prices are provided below: $5.25-$7.25 per serving These prices only apply to simple designs w/ basic piping. Special add-on decorations, florals & fillings cost extra Side sheet cakes $3.50-$4.25 per serving Side cakes are roughly frosted, undecorated cakes that never go on display. Both, the actual wedding cake and side cake slices look exactly the same on the plate. These prices only apply to simple designs with basic piping. A cake order should be placed as soon as you have finalized all the details of your event (colors, theme, design, amount of servings, etc.). Since we are usually booked a few weeks (or sometimes months) in advance, we do encourage early ordering. (4-6 weeks advance notice is recommended, but we’re happy to fit you in whenever our schedule permits.)
Yes. We require a non-refundable 50% deposit to book your order. If your balance is not paid IN FULL one week prior to your event, you forfeit your deposit, and risk not being accommodated.
After we discuss the details of your event and decide on a cake that you like, if you are interested in booking and would like to proceed, we would require a non-refundable 50% deposit to secure your date. The remaining balance must be paid in full one week prior to your event.
We accept all credit cards, Venmo, Zelle and ApplePay. A non-refundable deposit of 50% is due upon order placement. Balance is due in full one week prior to your event. We will make every attempt to contact you in the event of a missed pickup or denied delivery. If a cancellation is made less than one week prior to your event, the balance is still due in full. *Please understand that when you book an order, we decline other orders. If you cancel, that could result in thousands of dollars lost, just to accommodate your order (obviously, whether you cancel or not).
