Hello. My name is Amy Nicole and I am the girl under the Blue Umbrella and the face behind the cloud of flour and sugar. I fell into baking almost by accident after wanting to step away from my office job to find something more fulfilling. I started as a cake decorator in 2014 and transitioned into a bakery manager position before making the leap to business owner. The Blue Umbrella opened in 2018 and it has been an amazing adventure ever since.

I design buttercream-only wedding cakes, floral cupcake bouquets, mini cupcakes, and decorated cookies. Each petal piped by hand to reflect your palette and style. Couples love our flavors as much as the look, from classic Vanilla and Chocolate to specialties like Lemon Blueberry, Blackberry Vanilla, Strawberry Lemonade, and Cookies & Cream. I serve Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, the Corridor, and the Quad Cities with delivery and on-site setup so every detail is picture-perfect. Dates fill quickly, kindly reserve 6–12 months ahead.

We began as a concession company providing cotton candy at sporting events. In the fall of 2021, we extended our brand by starting our own manufacturing plant. Sweet Buckets was born as an option for customers and businesses to purchase Cotton Candy and Gourmet popcorns direct from our company.
