June of 2012. Just two months after my mom was critically injured and hospitalized. I began using my camera as an emotional outlet. I started taking portraits for family and friends, and eventually, photographed a courthouse wedding. As time went on, it hit me: These photos are freaking important! And I knew from personal experience that these moments, & the people in them, aren't going to be here forever. That camera became so much more than an outlet. It gave me purpose.
