  • Bridal suite on site

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you prefer a more modern aesthetic
  • No all-inclusive dining options
We cannot speak more highly of the Inn at West Settlement. From the minute we stepped onto the West Settlement property, we knew it was the perfect venue for us. Speaking with Kim just reinforced it - she was always responsive, no-nonsense, and helpful, and we quickly learned to trust her eye for flower design, decor, and how to set up the ceremony. Everyone who works on the property and at the events is the same:) We hosted 90 of our family and friends there for our wedding in June, and were able to host three beautiful events - a casual welcome BBQ, our ceremony and reception, and a goodbye brunch. The whole experience reinforced that we made the right decision in hosting our wedding with them. Everyone who attended raved about the location and that it was the most special wedding they've ever been to - we'd like to think we had something to do with it (!) but honestly most of it had to do with the gorgeous scenery, the laid back vibe, the local flowers and food, and the intimate and rustic barn where we held the reception.

As a wedding photographer I have been to an incredible number of venues and Locust Hill Barn is a complete stand out. The barn is a bright airy space, with beautiful grounds. Everything you need is right there with little effort. You have a ceremony site, woodlands, farmland, pond, and space outside for guests to roam around. The cocktail hour outside is beautiful, I especially love the lounge area under the tree shade. It also helps that this barn can house large weddings. I would highly recommend!

  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
Having our wedding at Handsome Hollow was an absolute dream. Kate and her team are professional, thorough, and beyond helpful before and on the day of the wedding. The location and grounds are stunning! We chose to have our ceremony in the fern forest a little ways up from the barn - it's like walking into a fairytale. The barn is a beautiful reception space that's open, inviting, and even more magical after sunset under the glowing string lights! We had a few guests including a couple of our family members who required assistance walking at certain times, but that was not a problem at all... The team communicates like special special forces to make sure everyone is comfortable and anyone requiring assistance gets shuttled swiftly by an off road buggy wherever they need to go! We also got shuttled as Bride & Groom does have it's privelages :) It was such a relief to know everyone was taken care of. Staying in the guest house was fantastic. The morning of the wedding I got ready upstairs in the barn loft, while my wife had the farmhouse the with hair/makeup and all of that. It's such a cute house, and was so nice to not have any traveling before our big day. Everything you would need is stocked at the farmhouse and help always seemed readily available if needed. It was just the relaxed easy going atmosphere we needed to chill out as much as possible before the wedding. There are so many great nooks and places for photo ops at Handsome Hollow! For a summer day it wasn't too hot at all, maybe the elevation helps a bit with that! It was warm before the ceremony when we took some photos in the sun, but we just cooled down in the farmhouse afterwards. The ceremony in the fern garden was under cover of trees so it was perfectly cool (both temperature and vibes!) The barn just seems to stay cool also, so that was no issue at all. We didn't get a chance to eat our desserts, so the team brought them up to the farmhouse for us to enjoy after the wedding was over. It's that level of hospitality, and so appreciated. My only regret is that I couldn't split myself into two people so I could not only get married, but also see the food buffet, see the s'mores by the campfire, watch our first dance (we nailed it!!). Luckily we had a phenomenal wedding planner (Lauren / Wild Blooms Bridal), and phenomenal photographer (Joshua Brown) to compliment the venue! It was truly an amazing day, and we can't thank you enough. You cannot go wrong with Handsome Hollow!!!

Hi Friends! I'm Courtney and I am the person behind the camera here at Reed Photography! I've been living in Columbia County (almost) all of my life! I briefly moved to New Jersey after my now husband, Jon and I got engaged 11 years ago! We've been back in the area for 10 years and have two sons, Liam and Cayden, our daughter, Mia and our "golden" child, our Golden Retriever Brody! I'm an avid country music fan, concert addict, Netflix binger, and New England Patriots fan!

Cannot say enough great things about Courtney! She felt like a friend from the very start. She was super organized in helping plan out our day and what photos/moments we wanted to capture. Her photography work from our day was amazing. I am absolutely obsessed with how our pictures came out! She caught so many moments from the reception I wasn’t around to see and I am forever grateful. She even did our maternity photoshoot too!

We recently had our wedding at ElmRock Inn bnb and we feel very lucky to have made lasting memories there. Rain or shine the grounds were absolutely stunning and the décor tied the ambiance together to create a warm and rustic look to our wedding that we always envisioned. We were blessed with a rainy morning which did not stop us from having a beautiful ceremony. The staff was extremely helpful as we transitioned with the weather. Jen and the other wait staff was very attentive in ensuring that everyone with food restrictions were taken care of. The food was beyond expectations, we had so many guests that came up to us to send compliments to the chef. The reception went off without a hitch! We were even lucky enough to get a visit from the friendly deer that like to roam the property which created the most spectacular and unique photos. There are only a few suggestions that we had about our experience. Those of our guests staying in the Carriage house hit a few snags during their visit. There are a few lifted nails in the floor boards that our guests hit as they walked barefoot upstairs. There was also some difficulty finding hooks to hand towels that were being used or to hang a suit. We stayed in the Iris room which was a beautiful space, however, we were woken up each morning quite early to staff having some loud conversations in the kitchen below us. The only trouble we had during the reception was during our cake cutting. We noticed the cake was not taken out with enough time to thaw after being in the fridge because it was difficult to cut. Regardless of these small challenges, we still had such an amazing time and could not be more happy with this unforgettable day. Thank you ElmRock Inn!

This is a bit of an untraditional wedding venue (as it is a restaurant) but that didn’t stop anyone from dancing and having a great time. From the moment we started working with Elisa (our “wedding planner” aka the woman who runs the show) she was detail oriented while willing to work with us throughout the whole process. Whether it was from payment, table arrangements, food, getting the vendors set up, etc. anything we needed, she helped. The food tasting she set up for us was amazing allowing us to try various options for the dinner. We are both laid back people so we let the chef go with any appetizers he wanted. You are able to request anything you want and they will likely be able to do it for you. The chef did not disappoint, ALL of the apps were incredible. We had one guest mention he ate 20 meatballs they were so good. There was chicken, steak skewers, lamb chops, meatballs, hummus/veggie spread (that wasn’t even all that was served). We had eaten at the restaurant a few times so we knew the food was good. However, having to serve 120 people and still make it delicious is tough but they did it well (we went with the chateaubriand, amish chicken, mahi mahi, and vegetable risotto). We requested no pork or nuts for the whole wedding. We had a wedding cake through a bakery they recommended and they also put plates of small desserts out on the tables. Aside from the food, the service was amazing. All the waiters and waitresses were attentive and extremely professional. For us, we constantly had our champagne filled and asked whether we needed something. They were on top of water refills, drink requests, clean up, etc. We really appreciated the service given to us and our guests. We heard so many times during cocktail hour that every time someone turned around they had a food option. While we did not have to go up to the bar, our guests said the bartenders were awesome, quick, and generous! Elisa worked great with our other vendors as well, making sure they had everything they needed and that things were kept on schedule (food, dances, cake, etc). We had a completely stress free evening which allowed us to have the time of our lives. She ensured that our tables were set with the centerpieces, the florals were set up, and she created a menu for us (which is great to have something taken off our plate). Elisa also, set up our various signs and ensured everything was where we had discussed. We were able to drop everything off ahead of time and not have anything to worry about the day of. Our biggest concern going to this venue was the fact that the front room was partially separated from the rest of the restaurant. We decided to sit people there who we knew would be a bit rowdier and on the dance floor so it wasn’t an issue for us at all. It did get pretty toasty in there but we were dancing the whole time and it’s an older building. The air tried its best and while sitting for dinner it was more than comfortable! We are a crazy group so I’m not surprised we were sweating lol. This was the best day and a HUGE part of that is thanks to Elisa and her whole team at the 76 house. Food, service, people are TOP NOTCH. We could go on and on but ran out of space :)

L & L is a bespoke wedding and event floral design studio servicing the Hudson Valley and Catskill regions of NY. We're a couple of flower loving gals with a passionate about creating beauty for life's most celebrated moments. Our designs are a perfect combination of wild and romantic. Lush blooms, textured greenery and foraged elements from our cutting gardens as well as from the wild are what define our natural aesthetic.

Lavender & Leaf is the epitome of floral design and an absolute dream to work with. As a bride, you have a million things to worry about that you’ve NEVER done before! When I met Sarah, I knew immediately I was in great hands. She instantly made me feel at ease as she walked me through her process and educated me on florals, what works together and what is/isn’t in season. I remember walking through my venue the day of the wedding and just seeing it BURST with beautiful blooms and greenery. I got married at a vineyard and her creative genius complimented everything perfectly. I can go on and on but trust me when I say you are in GREAT hands with Lavender & Leaf. I can not recommend them enough!

Hi! I'm Maria! I am a New York based fine-art wedding photographer that longs to capture real and authentic love anywhere and everywhere. I say Fine Art because I actually have a fine arts degree in photography. I am a happy wife who married her high-school sweetheart, an art book hoarder and slightly dog obsessed. I have loved photographing for as long as I can remember.

Working with Maria for our wedding was a really great experience. She worked within our budget and timeline, produced beautiful photos that matched my vision, and also was just a really kind person. She was communicative, I was always able to ask questions or get in touch with her as needed. Reliable, organized, and really a master of her art. Highly recommend booking her for your wedding or elopement!
