The Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton are located in the same Hotel building (1540 Leeland St.). There are separate links to their booking sites with slightly different pricing options, but both providers have rooms in the same building. When booking, you should see "Scalora Crain Wed" under booking. If you see, "flexible rate" then it means we are temporarily out of rooms in the block. We will be requesting to add rooms to the block every time we run out though. That process is Mon-Fri only and takes some negotiating, so please give it a day or two if you want to take advantage of the block rates. When we run out of rooms in the block for good, we will update the How To Travel page.
The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside on a grass/patio space, so we recommend thicker heels for those who plan to wear them. The reception will be indoors.
Each plus one and/or family member that you're allowed to RSVP for will be named in the RSVP form on our website. Additionally, this will be an adults-only event. Thank you for your understanding.
We think it’ll look sick. Before I explain further, here are some ground rules. If you are supremely uncomfortable in the color black, please wear what you’re most comfortable in. We would never ask you to compromise your own happiness for the sake of looking a certain way. If you can’t dress for the occasion without breaking the bank, please save it for a rainy day. We understand many of you are spending on travel and accommodations already. It adds up, we know. With all that said though, we would be so very happy if you did choose to participate in our requested dress code. We think it’ll look beautiful, elegant, and befitting an important milestone. The best analogy I can think of is a black out at your favorite team’s stadium. As a fan, you choose to support your team by participating in a simple yet striking tradition. When you enter the stadium and look around at everyone dressed the same, it adds to the experience. You feel empowered and united by sharing a collective experience with people you share something in common with. It’s a distinctly human feeling rooted in togetherness. That’s how we feel when surrounded by you all, and this is a way we’d like to really lean into that feeling.
Hotel Shuttle: pending attendance in our wedding hotel block - stay tuned! Taking the metro rail: Houston has public transportation!? Barely… 6 minute walk from the Red Line Museum District station on Fannin St. (in between Binz and Ewing). Ride Apps: Uber and Lyft are extremely affordable in Houston. And it’s a driving city, so you’re not likely to encounter difficulty hailing an ride. It usually takes 5-10 minutes to connect to a driver, so please account for that in your timeline. Driving: The venue has free parking for up to 75 cars (TBC). We expect it’s more than enough to fit all guests that prefer to drive.
In our hearts. Physically...they'll be sitting this one out.
