We know this is a big trip for everyone, and we have tried to add as much info as possible to our website regarding travel, places to stay, etc., but don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns! - We have created a rideshare list on Google Docs. If you have a rental car and would like to share the cost with some others arriving around the same time as you, please head over and add your info. If you need a ride, check out what's available here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1T6UAeRZnog-oRs5IhDNQoLxWSovWXcPhDueSe8SLwsc/edit?usp=sharing Also, we do not recommend driving on the roads at night! It is about a 2 hour drive from SJD to La Ventana, and the roads are not always well maintained, not well-lit, and there are lots of roaming cattle. Most flights get in early afternoon, but if you get in later in the evening you can spend a night in San Jose del Cabo and make the drive in the morning.
We met at a wedding! Or rather, on the Durango Train to the wedding of my cousin, and Zach's good friend, Peter. You could say it was love at first sight: Zach's devilishly handsome wink and a few spins around the dance floor, and it didn't take me long to realize I could fall in love with this man. It wasn't your traditional start to a relationship: we were both traveling and had to make it work long-distance for the first two years. Somehow we were able to find enough moments to escape to Baja, Costa Rica, or Reno and spend quality time adventuring together. I eventually moved to Reno, and while neither of us stopped traveling for work, we were able to make a beautiful home for ourselves in the high desert. We picked up our incredible dog Echo almost 5 years ago, and he has made our little family complete. We are all so excited for you to join us in our favorite place in the world. Love, d&z
Zach spent over a year working on a custom engagement ring without my knowledge. He designed the entire ring himself; after he mined for the sapphires in Montana, he created a custom cut pattern for the center stone, and the cut-outs in the band. The band is a melted silver coin from the 1715 Spanish Plate Fleet that sunk in the gulf of Mexico. His dad, Cowboy, helped find the coins while treasure hunting with Mel Fisher. He surprised me with it on the beach in Baja a few days before Christmas - I was shocked, stunned, and amazed at how much love and effort he put into it. It truly is a one-of-a-kind treasure that I will cherish forever. - Dana
