On her birthday, during a sun-drenched vacation in Santa Monica, he recreated every detail of their first trip together — the same Bubba Gump, the same aquarium, even the same over priced luxury hotel. As the ocean breeze tangled her hair and the city lights flickered on behind them, he walked her to the exact spot on the pier where they’d stood years ago, falling in love without knowing it yet. This time, he took her hand, dropped to one knee, and said, “Will you make me the happiest man in the universe; will you marry me?" With a huge smile on her face and the ocean waves behind them, she said yes.
