What's our story? Our story is... unfinished and never-ending. From my perspective, I stepped into an Uber pool and walked out with the winning Lotto! It's crazy to experience happen-stance comparable to a lightning strike like I did. To this day I am convinced there was a Divine hand involved in the day that led us to a meeting point in Austin, Texas. On a rainy day in November 2018 we first met for about 15 minutes, thank God for traffic that day! But it wasn't until a couple of months later in 2019 that we would see each other a second time. After parlaying the courage of New Year celebrations, and echoing the excitement the night's fireworks displayed, I reached out to Malú with a one-sentence message in an attempt to reignite the chemistry I certainly felt from our initial meeting. It's hard to believe that was over three years ago! After 1,000+ days, (truthfully much earlier than that), I can safely say there will never be enough. Without an adequate way to attempt or explain, time becomes more precious when you know you've found your one. About 5 months together I had my first pass with traditional steps one takes towards getting to our wedding day. When I first met her family I asked her father, Alberto, for permission to invite Malú to Europe with me on a week-long vacation. Or so I intended. He responded by asking me if I was taking Iñaki or Jose, and I learned very quickly that night the specific difference between "tú hija" and "tú hijo" and that I was in fact capable of making her father laugh. That conversation served as a major stepping stone in both my relationship with Malú (our Euro-trip memories will last a lifetime) and also my relationship with my own future. The second time I would meet with him and Malú's mom in their kitchen, I'd be asking to join their family, and if their "hija" could join mine. If you're reading this, you know what the answer was, and that I spoke correctly the second time. My story is simple: onward to forever.
We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Tampico!
