Although neither of us can recall the first time we met, the most memorable time that we may have met was when Meghan was racing in Ohio with Ithaca's Cross Country team. Matt drove up from Ashland to cheer on his high school best friend, Alexa, not knowing that he was going to meet his future wife. However, he did realize she was the one for him when he got to witness her win a sloppy joe eating contest against her coach, who was roughly twice her size. Matt stood in the corner in awe of her impressive ability to finish 9 sloppy joes in 10 minutes.

When Meghan's mother was visiting Columbus for the first time, Meghan and Matt took the opportunity to show both her and Matt's parents a wedding venue they were interested in. While touring the venue and discussing table layout options, Matt asked Meghan if she would be interested in leaving wedding themed games on the tables for the guests to play. Despite Meghan's quick "no" he laid one down on a table and asked her to do it. Upon finishing the jigsaw puzzle, Meghan read a message saying "Will you marry me?" and turned around to find Matt down on one knee. It may not have been a coherent "yes" due to some crying/wheezing, but the emotions were all there! We got to celebrate with our parents and are so excited to share this wonderful spot with you all on our wedding day!
