An outdoor one! The ceremony will be on a grassy hilltop overlooking a lovely creek. (Don't worry, you don't have to walk up or down the hill.) The reception is a 2-3 minute walk on a gravel path that will lead you to an open-air pavilion, a bar, and a barn in which we'll set up the buffet. This is also where the bathrooms are located.
The Nashville area in early October usually has highs around 70 and lows that can dip into the 50s late at night. Please check the weather when you're packing for the trip. It will hopefully be a beautiful evening but if you get cold easily, maybe bring a beautiful sweater or jacket for later.
The dress code is semi-formal. According to Brides.com, women can go with "a cocktail dress or a polished set. Semi-formal also translates to shorter hemlines, bold prints, or elevated separates like a festive top paired with tailored dress pants." Men should "focus on matching a suit jacket or a blazer to dress pants." Whatever outfit you choose, please make sure to wear shoes in which you'll be able to walk on grass and gravel.
A wonderful question. Our ceremony should take about 30 minutes, then we'll have appetizers at the cocktail hour. We're going big for dinner and dessert, and you'll be able to make s'mores at the fire pit, too. Be prepared.
Plenty. When you arrive at the farm you'll see signs directing you to the parking lot (which is on grass). When you park, you'll see a short gravel path with a sign that says "Carts only." That path will lead you to the ceremony site.
Yes, for all our East Coast friends and family, Tennessee is in CST, one hour behind EST. Please keep in mind that all times for all events are local time.
